there is 2 types of hypertrophy

1 - sarcoplasmic...this is when cells within the muscle grow because of an increase of fluids etc in the muscle (glycogen, water) and is gained with bodybuilding, pump type training...doesn't increase strength

2 - sacromere...this is when contractile portions within the muscle grow and is gained with low reps and high vol...think gridiron players...does increase strength
