alligatorob, good question about differentiating between hunger and cravings. I generally think of a craving as a desire for empty calories (junk food) especially when I have eaten a healthy meal shortly before. For example, chocolate is almost always a craving for me. That is a good question -- lots to think about.

Hey W2L, you need to give us a name. Doesn't have to be your real one, for example I am not sure aiminglow's real name is Amy, but she's Amy to us. Even thought Want2Lose is a good goal statement and forum name its harder to address in a post.

I think sorting out hunger from cravings is a good thing to work on, its important. I still struggle with it, but am slowly getting a handle, sometimes any way.

I have been thinking of asking the same thing. I think I just named aiminglow, Amy & she didn't mind it. It feels more real when you are using a real name, even if it's not your actual name.
Your food all sounds good. Do you still eat fish?

Not a great day. Carb heavy, sodium heavy, low on vegetables.

Not sure what name to use. Really like W2L. How about just “W”?

Love the sound of the black bean veggie burgers!

And, yes, it was @Cate who suggested Amy, since aiminglow was long and a bit confusing as well. Thank you, Cate! I enjoy the name. :)

Weight 140 pounds

So I didn't lose any weight over the last two weeks but I think if I adjust my diet to include more vegetables and fewer processed foods and restaurant meals I shoukd be able to restart the loss. Also must remember to drink plenty of water.

Hey W, don't let a plateau bother you too much. But i may be a good time to look more carefully at how much you are eating. Do you weigh and measure, or do something to let you know the calories in what you eat? Things like Brussels sprouts with butter or five falafels can be just fine, or a lot of calories depending on how much you eat and how much fat they contain. Do you need butter on the Brussels sprouts? I eat mine without, and like them just fine.

I don't mean to be critical, you are doing well tracking your food, keep it up!

Thanks for the feedback, alligatorob.Yes, I do measure higher-calorie items like butter, oil, cheese, nuts. There was one teaspoon of butter on the sprouts, but if my weight doesn't move, I can try them without.

I am reluctant to go under 1600 calories a day. When I do, my hunger becomes overwhelming and I start to obsess about food in an unhealthy way. I know it will take longer to lose the weight, but it is safer for me.

I can really relate to keeping the calories to a level that doesn't leave one too stressed. I'm the same way.

I'm jealous of all your falafels. One of my favourite foods! Nowhere here to get a good one out and I'm not great at making them myself...maybe should give it a go again...
Everyone on this site is so inspiring to get in the kitchen and cook up something real nice!
