Want SMALLER BUTT!!!

I am 5'3" 118lbs and my measurements are about 33-25-36. I am a mixed ethnicity female with my lower body naturally being bigger than my upper body. This has always upset me very much and I really want to make it smaller. I know I can't do spot reduction but I want my butt to get as small as possible without bulking up the rest of my body. How can I do this?

It will be hard because the butt is one of the places your body likes to store fat. Reduce your bodyfat through a combination of cardiovascular exercise (everyday), strength training 3-4 days a week, and eat right. For you, about 1200 calories a day would probably be about right unless you are really active. But from your stats it sounds like you are really being too hard on yourself.

I am not physically active outside of the gym where I try to go 3 times a week but I'll try this out. I guess if I strength train with weights that aren't too heavy and do more reps to compensate then it won't make me more bulky down there.

I may be acting too harsh on myself but if I am not happy then I have to work to fix that. Thank you for your advice.

Like you said, you can't spot reduce. So, the only thing you can really do is tighten up your whole body by eating frequent small meals consisting of good quality food and light-moderate cardio for fat burning. Another good idea is to shape that butt! Squats, Lunges, Stiff-leg deadlifts, and leg press will do this trick!

Hope that helps! :D

also keep in mind women tend to not get bulky. getting bulky requires a calorie surplus, not a deficiet...and also requires testosterone, which usually isn't abundent enough in women to enable much bulking.
Remember, when you see photos of female bodybuilders, that many of them aren't natural (in other words they artificially increase testosterone, typically via steroid use - at least among middle and heavyweight competitors)

I am new here!!!Please help!!!

Hi, I'd like this website, I think it is great, that everybody helps out!!!

I am 25years old, weigh between 106-110lbs. Usually 108. My height is 5-2, 5-3. My biggest problem is sweets!!! I have a sweettooth!!! Usually have it everyday...but in proportion. Just a littlebit after lunch, and sometimes dinner. I don't know why that is but it's like I really crave it after eating.
My biggest problem is my butt. I am a very petite person otherwise...very small ontop. Since I have been 19, I have had problems with my butt. Its really unproportioned to the rest of my body, and I feel uncomfortable in a bikini. Its sort of a little ball on the side of my thighs under my butt....thats where all the fat gets stored I guess. I am shorter too, I guess so it shows up more on me because I have shorter legs. I have started getting cellulite too a little bit, since the last year. What do I do????? Help. I do use cellulite cream everyday.
For work out....that is what I need to find out. I do go to the gym. The problem is is that I am a hairdresser, and am on my feet the whole day. So I get tired, but I still push myself. If I go 4times a week is that enough??? At home I try to do side legraises(30reps, 3sets to each side, w/ weights) and my abs. At the gym, I run on the treadmill for 20-25minutes on 6.0speed. Now, I read that the HIT workout is really good for burning fat. Is that true??? So that you increase your speed for about 15minutes...really working hard. Maybe I should try that. Is it true that the stairmaster just makes your butt bigger??? I don't want that to happen. I'd like to loose my but, and tone it. What is the best thing for that. My waist is small...27. So, I don't know?? After the treadmill...I usually try doing leg exercises right away, while my muscles are still warm. I do squats with 15lb. 3sets or 12. I am afraid of using the legpress, cause of my thighs. Then I do legraises again, butt raise. Should I be doing lounges aswell, and howmany. Now during the week, how many times should I be doing legs to loose the weight and tone it. Should I give them a break at home, and not do them. Last year I did stepclasses, and sort of like taebox...they where an hour long. It seemed to help. Is running a good way to loosing the fat??? And how many times a week. Thank you I hope someone can help me

I also have 36" butt (5'1"). I'm looking to lose about 5 lbs overall on my body because I ate a bunch of junk food when I was stressed out this past semester. The thing that gets me is that even when I was sick and dropped down to 95 lbs (I normally weigh around 110), I STILL HAD CELLULITE! Is there any way to not necessarily reduce butt size by a whole lot but to smooth over the cellulite that genetics cursed me with?

working out is important but nutrition is just as or some say even more important. remember we cant spot reduce.

we have to burn more calories than we take in. what do your meal plans look like?

that is my problem...toast for breakfast...maybe with a cold cut..and tea....snack..mandirin...lunch...usually soup or sandwich in the winter...or leftover from night before...cabagerolls...meat, of somesort...stews...than usually a small bit of chocolate..or anything sweet....then afternoon snack again around 2 or 3....fruit, or few crackers...than around 7 dinner...trying to eat more chicken now..with grilled vegetables and fruit after. Is this ok????

chicken, veggies and fruit are all great choices. try to base meals off a protein source with complex carbs and healthy fats or do protein/fats or protein/carbs.

have small meals roughly 3 hours apart. besides chicken you can do turkey, fish and lean red meat (i like round steak myself).

other choices are yogurt, nuts, cottage cheese, sandwiches, etc

"I am not physically active outside of the gym where I try to go 3 times a week".
going back to the top of the thread......... maybe herein lies the problem. 3 hours a week is not enough activity, the gym is great, but not the bee all and end all. focus on being more active Cycle, run, swim, walk, basically get out of the gym and start being more activedaily in your life!!
