Very skinny and out of shape, help?

I kind of don't know where to start...

I'm 5'11 and currently about 125lbs. The past 4 days I have been eating a lot more and working out with a couple 15lb dumbbells towards the end of the day, lifting them and squatting with them. I still skip breakfast though, I hate eating in the morning...anyway I want to get to a healthier weight and bulk up a little. I felt the most comfortable at my highest weight (about 135) and want to at least get to there again as soon as possible, but I want to do it the right way, since that will provide the best results right. Any good tips such as what I should/shouldn't eat? I've been eating more good stuff like beans, eggs, meats, peanut butter kind of stuff...haven't gained any weight yet sadly, but it's only been 4 days. And which exercises are best for bulking a skinny dude like me up the quickest...gaining weight for me is pretty hard. :confused4:

I would rather not use supplements, as my intent is to just get a little thicker and a little muscle definition, not to look like Lou Ferrigno. :cool2:

The answers are out there

There are so many questions that beginner trainers have, there are also many different reasons, goals and obstacles that we individually need to go through as we all have different body type and structure.

The best thing that anyone can do is start from the beginning. These are my tips,

* What is your Goal?
You need to define what your outcome is, do you want to be tone, do you want to take up bodybuilding, do you only want to improve your fitness and endurance?

* What is your body type?
We all have different body types, Ectomorph - Mesomorph - Endomorph.
Once you work out which one you are you will know how to train according to your body and not someone else.

* How is your current eating plan?
Training does not stop in the gym, remember if your not eating right then your body is not building and repairing correctly. If your trying to put on weight then you need to eat different food then if your trying to lose weight.

* What resources do you have to train with?
How often can you train? Like really, dont kid yourself or your only setting yourself up to fail. If i think i can train 5 days a week ill incorporate a 4 day training and 5th sitting there for when i can do it, this allows realistic goals that you can achieve, achieving goals and seeing results only doubles motivation!

From the sound of it, you are going to need some help with the gym. Now, personal trainers are expensive, but well worth the money. If it's out of your price range, then try something like Crossfit.

There are basically three main body types; endomorph, ectomorh and mesomorph. If you have a skinny frame and seem to be able to eat loads without gaining bulk then it sounds like you are an ectomorph. I found a body type quiz which is free to do here there is also some good info about each body type there too.
