Venus_84 Time to Slim Down

This has been a great week for me healthwise. I'm very proud of myself. I've been snowed in for the last couple days and yet I've managed not to overeat and I've been excercising to a DVD, since I haven't been able to get to the gym. This is good, but I'm concerned that when real life gets going again I'll start eating out more again and gain it back. Gotta keep up the good habits!:)

Congratulations on not giving in, even when snowed in! I have problems with that. I get bored, I tend to decide I'm hungry, even when I'm not.

Hope you have fun here!

Thanks! It's usually a big problem for me too. Especially in the evenings. My fiance is out of town and whenever he's gone I find myself watching multiple episodes of CSI and snacking. My one downfall this week has been the coffee intake. It's cold and I keep wanting coffee. Plus, it's kind the only treat I'll allow myself right now. Well actually I ate a couple bites of a chocolate lava cake. My mother-in-law-to-be sent a little lava cake home with me. I was good, though, I ate only a little bit and I chose the very best part to eat - the inside.:)

I've been learning that this helps me - eating the best part first. I grew up being taught to finish all my food and so I used to eat the things I didn't like as much first - I'm serious, I ate the crusts on a sandwhich first, the crust of a piece of pizza, veggies, salad. Now I'm trying to do the opposite. Why not eat the part I like best first. Then I often don't even want the rest afterwards. It worked like a charm with t6he lava cake. Who wants it when the warm gooey center is gone?

I going to Florida for a couple days and I leave on Wednesday. I'm going to a wedding out there and so I had to buy a dress. I was so excited when I tried on a medium size at Le Chateau and it was too big! I ended up buying a small. That doesn't usually happed to me - maybe Le Chateau has larger sizes than usual. I guess dresses are also a bit different.

I have pretty extreme pear shaped body. I can usually get away with small tops, but I wear meduim to large bottoms. It's kind of frusterating, because I always feel like I'm unbalanced. I don't even have big boobs to makeup for it. Even as I lose weight, I notice my tummy getting smaller, but not my hips, butt or thighs. At least that's a healthier place to store fat, apparently.

Part of me would like to lose enough weight to significanly decrease my lower body fat, but I'm afraid if I lose too much, my upper body will start looking sickly skinny. Ahhgg it never seems to balance out. I think my butt will be proportionally large no matter what I do. Oh well - some people actually like my big butt, but my brothers and sister continuously tease me about it.

Well I'm off to Florida this morning! Hopefully I can keep up my god habits for the trip. There's a gym at the hotel and I brought workout clothes, so I can still get a couple work-outs in. I packed myself some healthy snacks for travelling, so I think I'm good to go. I hope I've lost a pound when I get back (and certainly not have gained any weight!).

Have fun! It sounds like you packed well :D

I agree about the "eat the best part first" ideal, but I have messed that up before, too. Like eating the topping (only) from several slices of pizza. *shrugs* well, you live and learn, and I hope your trip is a lot of fun. You should sweat a lot of water in that Florida heat, I know I did! If you get dizzy eat something salty, it often means you're low on electrolytes.
