Ugh!!!!

I know I'm doing pretty much everything right here.

I've lost almost 15 pounds since June, and I'm VERY happy with my performance. I've been eating 4-5 times a day almost all fruits, veggies, yogurt, and then bunches of protein.

I go to the gym about 4 or 5 times a week and ride the stationary bike for 45 minutes or so and do some "casual lifting" meaning I don't push high weight or high rep, but get a burn. (I can't run because of bad knees)

I am seeing definition in my chest, abs, arms in addition to my weight loss.

Although I am very happy and proud of myself, I have one major problem : THE SPARE TIRE

It's improved slightly with the rest of the changes my body has gone through, but it lingers. I have good definition in my abs now, showing the top of a 6-pack even!
It goes all the way around too - lovehandles and around back.

Does anyone know what this is all about? I'm of the assumption that it's going to take years to get rid of it - and it that's what it takes, so be it - But am I missing any good workouts for this problem in particular?

Like I said - I'm proud of myself, and happy with the results I've seen. I feel like I've done everything right, and this problem area is just really annoying.

If anyone has anything, I thank you in advance!

If you are still seeing wt loss progress, then keep it up. Eventually, it should happen. A general rule is wherever you MOST want to lose fat, is most likely the very LAST freakin' place it will budge from.

If you have hit a plateau, then change up your diet/exercise routine a bit. Do some tinkering and shake things up.

I too had a routine, though moe intense than yours, with no structure.

It didn;t work for me either.

Post your goals and there is help here.

Deschain's eyeball is sexier than your eyeball, FF!

As for the OP, keep on keeping on until / if you plateau and then change things. As long as you are losing weight, you will eventually lose that spare tire.

Thanks all! I'll update ya. Those eyes creep me out too much!
Like I said - The spare tire has shrunken a little - but it's not proportionate. I'm going to start to "shake things up a little" by doing some crunches including the left elbow to right knee and vise versa-style crunches. I get into a routine, and it's worked, so now I just need to alter it a bit.

Thanks Again!

In regards to this, the spare tire will be the last thing to go. Because of cortisol, men gain weight mainly in their stomach region, and the "spare weight" is collected around the midsection, which creates the tire. In Women, its collected at the butt.. which is why you might even see skinny girls, with huge asses ^^

Because of this, just keep up the work, and in some short months, things should start to change, when you cleanse your body if fat, the tire will go, but it could be the very last thing to go.

I know how ya feel man. I used to be huuuuge. i was 5'2 @230lbs. I'm now 5'11 @170 lbs, with a bit of a tire. Everything else looks fantastic but I still have the little bit of softness that hangs above the belt.

The only way to cut thru that is to reduce your body fat. The only way to really reduce your body fat is thru a clean diet. Moderation and variety is key.

Moderation and variety of a clean diet is the only way to reduce enough body fat to cut thru your spare tire.

Good luck and keep us posted.

You specifiy eating "frequently" but dont indicate your caloric totals, what are these like?

I suggest to shake up the circumference of your routine with looking at the diet and examining the effects of---your weight training--before increasing your crunches (more crunches will NOT reduce the love handles) and will likewise cover any potential results from the increased crunches (and calories burned likewise minimal)

When you respond I will get back to you (if for some reason, I dont, pm me and remind me if you wish).

Losing fat is sort of like draining a pool: The shallow end usually drains for the larger and deeper end. This is one of the reasons the upper tier of abs show before the bottom tier on man in most cases. Keep worken it girl.........IT will come off with proper determination skills.

Well, Chillen... This may upset-frustrate you, but I can't count calories - I have a lot of responsibilities that don't really allow me to sit and look through my caloric intake every day.

But here's pretty much my typical day:

930-10ish: Coffee in the AM - usually accompanied by a granola bar - lately I've been gettin MET-Rx ProteinPlus bars

a couple of hours later I have a Tuna sandwich - No mayo, but it's a whole can with 2 slices of melted cheese.

about 230 - (2 hours later) I'll have a Fat-free yogurt and a package of baby carrots (to keep me regular lol)

5pm I come home and make 3 eggs with a small pad of butter

At the gym for 1 and a half hours usually and I'll come home and eat a big boiled chicken breast with a little BBQ sauce for flavor.

I may have a very small snack later in the night (round 9) but not too often.

If you notice I've shifted to higher protein diet as I'm trying to build some mass. I've been hittin the weights more but still everyday I'll do at least 20mins of HIIT - otherwise 30-45 mins of cardio.
