hi there everyone.
ok, so i'm going to give a small intro here to myself to get you all to know me a little better. i am a twenty-three year old 'girl' who lives in canada; the land of delicious food. since i was a little kid i have never been small. i have three brothers; two of them older. i have a picture from when i was five, where in one of my older brothers and i are sitting on a tetter-totter, and it's level. i never gave too much thought to my weight until after i graduated highschool and found out my true love was acting. apparently 'heafty' people aren't so wanted (as i was bluntly told). i am just under six feet tall, and though my weight yo-yo'd, i maxed out at 235lbs. i managed, about three years ago, to go down to 190lbs, though stresses brought me back up again. last time i checked the scale, i was at 208lbs, though right now, i am certain i am about 220.
i'm not sure what else to say at this moment... ok, that's a lie. i think it's that i have too much to say. one for sure thing is that i know i need and want to loose weight, and that i need people to help 'push' me.
i took the questions off of the main post, and will answer those. hopefully that will give more insight to me.
What is your current height and weight? 5'11 and about 220lbs.
If you were at an ideal weight now, what would that weight be? about 170lbs.
At what weight would you like to be at four months from now? About 195lbs... lol, i hope.
Why do you want to lose weight? to feel better inside and out. and so that i can do the profession i really want to do.
Do you want to lose weight for a specific life event such as wedding or reunion? If so, when is that event? no. i'd like to look good when i go back to school in september though.
What obstacles could get between you and your weight loss goals? my mum is a large obstacle because she tries to loose weight too, but she'll crash diet and then eat a lot, then crash then eat...
Why do you think that you now have a weight problem? stress. a lot of stress.
What lifestyle changes do you think would help you lose weight? i need a support group that is constantly on me about loosing weight. reminding me how much better i'll feel when i do.
Have you lost weight in the past? If so, what has worked in the past to help you lose weight? i lost weight in the past when i went to university. ironically the ten pounds you're supposed to gain when you go was lost when i did.
Why do you believe that you did not lose weight or you gained the weight back? because i came back home where the stresses are.
What, if anything, has not worked for you in the past in helping you to lose weight? Why do you think it did not work? crash dieting. because when i do that, i always make up for it after by eating really badly.
Would you try writing down all food and drink consumed for a given period of time? yes, and i really should.
Do you cook at home often? If so, what do you cook? i don't usually cook. my dad does because i'll be at work and come home at about supper time. and he usually cooks the really greasy and yet so good foods.
How often do you go out to eat? Where do you go? i actually don't eat out too often. that's what happens when you live in a hick farming community.
What are your three favorite foods? fruit cups (obviously not the 'good for you kind' lol), lasagna and pizza.
What are your three favorite restaurants? umm... olive garden, pizza hut and yeah, mcdonalds.
If you woke up tomorrow and your body was exactly the way you want it, what would be different? i wouldn't have a 'tyre' around my belly, and i could have a ton more confidence.
Do you eat when you are not hungry? yes, a lot.
Do you binge eat (large amounts at a time)? yes.
Do you hide your food or eat in secret? nope.
Do you eat when you are sad, nervous, or depressed? yes... to all three.
Do you eat as a reward? sometimes.
Do you eat while watching TV or using the computer? tv... computer not so much.
What do you normally eat for a meal? in general the sterotypical 'potato and meat' type of thing.
What type of snacks do you eat? chips, cookies and the all around bad for you stuff.
In terms of exercise, what, if anything, are you currently doing? i love to walk-- i walked 20 miles last summer because my brother said i couldn't. but it's winter right now and it's -45C (-50F), and it's really hard to walk in that.
Where do you go for exercise? A local public gym? School/work gym? Home? we have none of the above, so usually i just walk the perimeter of the town which takes me about 45 minutes at an easy pace.
What, if anything, are your three favorite types of exercise? walking, biking and swimming.
Do you have rewards for certain goals? rewards are interesting things like tattoos and stuff like that. and new outfits... that fit.
so this concludes my first post. i swear they'll get more intesting, lol. i hope i'll get to know you all better, and that i'll find what i need here.
