Can anybody or anybody going through something similar? As stated I'm 42 years old, 5'7" weigh 155 lbs give or take. I lost 50 pounds in the month of March of this year (stress related). Losing 50lbs in such a short period of time made me look sickly. I decided to brush off the dust of my dumbells and go to work. I've been at it for 8 weeks now. There has been some improvements. What I'm hoping for is building of mass. But I continue to lose weight. I'm doing a 3 day split program. Monday (Chest and Triceps), Tuesday(cardio and abs), Wednesday (Shoulders, Back, biceps) Thursday (Cardio and Abs), Friday (legs) all are 3 exercises per muscle group and 3 sets per group, and reached failure on set no. 3 on all...Can't seem to up the weight from week to week.
I've uped my calorie intake from 2000 to almost 3000 per day, spread out over 5 meals a day. I've lost a couple of more pounds.
I've cut out one day of cardio.
Supplements =whey 3 x a day (Morning, prior to and after workout)
Glutamine =20 grams a day (morning and prior to workout)
Creatine=20 grams a day (morning and prior to workout)
Some other vitamins
Glucosomine (Joints)
Zinc (get rid of man boobs)
Vitamin E (just for good measure)
Drink 3 litres of water a day.
What the heck am I doing wrong?
I've never been a hard gainer. I usually in the past have put on weight quite easily.
Is it my age? Stress level?
I look good after the workout. My arms are pumped, my chest hard, stomach toned...A few hours later everything returns to normal and no gains made and the muscles seem soft.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
