Trusylver's Maintenance and Training Log

Day 2, 2010

so far so good for the new year

120 minute bike
10 minutes skipping

food and water good so far. I am so looking forward to the gym getting back to normal hours on monday. I am planning to move my heavy bag from the verandah to my training area in the shed this afternoon so most of my training gear is in the one place.

here are a couple of pics from the storm last night

I have been reading your diay Trusylver. It is amazing how you manage to juggle it all. Interesting reading, thanks for sharing. Loved the photos of your lightening. I have just started getting into photography as a hobby. Got myself a Nikon D90. I tried capturing lightening the other night, damm it is hard, so I was very impressed with your photos.

shinspint the new years challenge is a 12 week challenge in the club challenge section of the forum.

I can get a little obsessive about my lightening photos and hubby doesn't like it if I go anywhere out in the open to shoot my pics and none of the family will go near me outside in a storm lol. at the moment I am using a Cannon SX10 IS but I also use my older non digital RICOH KR-5 SLR

Challeng DAY 3

Exercise good, water excelent, food - not averageing enough last week need to increase protein intake. hopefully during this challenge I won't feel so alone during my 3 month prep for comp and my intensity increases.

Last weeks Nutrition and exercise log

So do you work out with anyone where you are? It sounds like you're in a pretty competitive area, so I just kinda wondered :) I don't EXACTLY know how you mean by "lonely", but I know that I'll work my butt off and it seems like noone around me really gives a toot. Whatevv. I do what I do how I do and thats all I can do :D
have a great day tomorrow!

I don't have a training partner and the gym is usually almost empty when I train, The only time I usually train with other lifters is when I make the 3 hour drive (each way) or so to the powerlifting club in the closest city to spend time with my coach. I like to participate in fitness classes (pump, etc.) but during school time I cant get into the gym at those times due to having to work around my kids special needs.

I am very competitive which a lot of people find a little intimidating and also find hard to keep up with the intensity I train at, again except when I make the drive to the powerlifting club.

Hubby is into his running and we have different workout styles for different fitness goals so when we are at the gym at the same times our workouts don't usually cross over except when I need to spot.

I supose lonely mabe not the right word but most people have little understanding of the stress of having 2 out of 3 kids with special needs and the dedication needed to succeed at a sport at a national level. I don't look like what most people consider to be an "Athlete" which is fine with me most of the time but like most on this forum there are areas of the body I would love to change.

I am also not saying that I don't have support but most of those that support me don't understand me and I am not the easiest person to get to know or get close to, On an intelectual level I know what I know and come across as very confident and self relient which I am in my own area's of expertise, and I don't need or look for confirmation of me or my abilities, but dealing with people and emotions is dificult.

for thost interested in personality typing I am an INTJ

I can see where you're coming from... thats a lotta different issues all rolled into a big ball! AND driving 3 hours each way- that coach better be a damn good one, lol!! Just keep doin what you do. I kinda feel like people sometimes misunderstand me a bit, and its frustrating, but I know that in the long run of it, I'm doing what I gotta do for ME. You always inspire me, lady.

Had measurements and basic fitness check before training today, if only I didn't have all the loose skin over my stomach. My results were good BF% and measurements stable, Blood pressure and heart rate excelent, at the age of 37 I have a health and fitness level of a healthy 23 year old :D Loosing the extra fat is a matter of vanity rather than health. Was also asked do another persons BF measurements after mine were done so as to keep my skills fresh as most people tend to shy away from getting their fat measured and skills need to be kept up to date.

Training was Squat and deadlift day and will do some cardio this afternoon after hubby and I finish digging a new garden bed.

I am sitting here at the computer now, my legs feel like lead weighted jelly lol, Just finished firstly a 7 km run to the local shop then when hubby slept through his alarm clock and didn't show up to drive me home I completed another 4km of walking (up hill) when hubby woke up and remembered that he had set his alarm for a reason. On top of having a heavy leg day yesterday my legs are to be honest fking rooted. I think I need to go have an icy shower for recovery and and get some food into me aside from the small chocolate I had earlier.

I think your old man owes you a massage. He's a great personal trainer though... his sleeping on the job works out for everyone. ;)

Training wasn't real good this morning, I felt lethargic and weak. I am feeling realy out of sorts today. On the up side I have an apointment with a dietition who does sport nutrition next thursday, I just hope it will be $90 well spent.

Make a list of all the things you want answered. If you just go and expect the nutritionist to start spewing facts and possibilities, you may end up being disappointed because they may just be telling you things you already know. That's another thing, ask if the info you already have is correct as well. I have a good friend who is a dietitian and nutritionist and am always surprised by the answers she gives me. So go prepared, then you will get your money's worth!

I am prepared for my apointment, Including all of my detailed eating logs, the chalenge for any nutritionist will be helping me work around my allergies and being a coeliac.

this is day 1 of the second week of the new year challenge, I believe I have a bit of an unfair advantage with the challenge this week but we will see.

Methinks you may be the odds on favorite for this week's challenge. I am impressed!!

Just finished my additional 500 squats for the day with a 10 kg vest on so total squats for the new year challenge week 2 day 1 is 530.

it is halfway through saturday morning, I am in pain from sunburn despite my sunscreen yesterday and I have a new big ass bruise on my knee from when i fell of the ab circle pro but as Jess would put it the crazy ass machine has kicked into gear and I have completed my 500 squats for today. I will try to get come cardio later.

Total squats for challenge week 2 so far = 1030
