Hello WLF!I've only been here a short while but I already can't imagine a day not spent gathering information/inspiration here. You're all wonderful and I thank you :D

Quick back story - poor kid, no nutritional education, was not in any sport, gradually put on weight. My biggest was 198 :\

I then went on Bernsteins. Knowing what I know now, that was a HUGE mistake. I did get down to 159, but over 6 months went back up to 184.

I have a couple of friends who are awesome support. Unfortunately my family is not the same. My mother literally tried to shove chips in my mouth yesterday and added oil to my stir fry when I wasn't looking. I know she does not want me to be healthy/smaller because she is very unhealthy. I stopped worrying about it and I am very straightforward now. If I'm offered something I know is unhealthy, I flat out say no. I have to do this many times a day!

I quit smoking 4 months ago and it is gone FOR GOOD this time. I have saved almost $2000!! That's really helping pay for Europe :D

Once every two weeks I go out with my friends and have a few too many drinks. I still eat healthy the whole day and even the food I take in drunkenly is healthy (I stow away whole wheat crackers and snap peas in my bag haha).

I have been measuring myself weekly, I weigh in every 2 days (I understand fluctuation!) and the last thing I have to get is a scale to weigh my food. I use an app on my iPhone called MyNetDiary to track my food and exercise, and I am very happy with it!

I would like to be at 150 by mid August (when I leave for Europe). That's a steady 2lb weekly loss. I don't know what I look like at 150, so I may want to go lower when I reach that goal, but I will see when I get there!

So, here is diary day 1! I'm excited to share this journey with people who know what it feels like.

Today!
Bike to work, 25 minutes
Breakfast - Multigrain cheerios, skim milk, black coffee, banana

Lunch - Avocado cranberry salad, low fat italian dressing, lean turkey breast, apple

Snack - Babybel Light

Bike home, 25 minutes

Dinner - Bean sprout and shrimp stir fry

Will probably try Tae Bo or Turbo Jam tonight, got them both yesterday! JM's kickboxing too.

The blond photo is me now. The red hair is when I was around 160. LETS DO THIS!!

Also third last episode of LOST tonight! EXCITED!!
 
Hey pretty lady *waves* Welcome to WLF! It's awesome here. Longest time I've ever stuck with anything. SO jealous that you've saved so much money by quitting. I still can't pack it in! I loves it too much. Can't diet and quit at the same time! :p
Your food sounds awesome and it looks like you know what you're doing so good luck and keep posting! Keeping yourself accountable is really important :)

It looks like you have already been doing good, and you definitely have the right idea and attitude. You aren't trying to do it too fast, just reallly steady, and that is something that i had to learn from people here in this forum. The red hair is hot!
 
It's awesome to know it looks like I'm doing it right! I want this to be long term, so I'm doing the best I can!
 
Hi there ...Welcome to WLF! You are off to a great start!!! You menu looks great! and very tasty!!! 2lb a week is very healthy and reasonable so I beleive you can get down to 150 by august! It's too bad you don't have the much needed support at home from you mom, but you will see that you will find a ton of support here!
 
I know you are going to reach your goal! :) And you sound like you are on the right track to get to where you want to be. You never know, one week you may lose like 3.5 pounds, which happens to a lot of people here unexpectedly so you may even reach your goal early! I am aiming for 137 by August 19th, so we can keep eachother in check since that is both of our goal dates!

Anyway, keep up the amazing work!
 
Thanks! It was a lot of maintenance that's why I'm blond now, but I do miss it!

Tried Tae Bo last night, and just when I thought it was about to end I realized I had another 25 minutes to go! I figured, I can stop, this has been a great workout, but I went for it! A total of 2 hours working out yesterday, and that paid off today. I weighed in at 175.2!!! Down 1.4 Since Friday weeeeee!!!
 
I'm starting exactly where you did! Ive done Tae Bo before and it leaves my legs hurting like crazy!

Awesome! We can keep up on each other. My goal weight might be around yours in the end too, I'm just not sure. I felt pretty small when I was 159, so I'll see how 150 goes and then take it from there.

Jillian Micheals is the reason my legs don't hurt like they used to. That chick is obsessed with squats and lunges I swear. Lunges as a warm up? UGH!!

I really admire your commitment to working out. It seems like it's really giving results, too!

I am so very sorry, though, to hear about your mother sabotaging your efforts to be healthy. I am a mom myself and can't even imagine doing something so negative to one of my children. I'm glad you are able to deal with it pretty well and let it roll off your back, but it must be hard.

But you'll get lots of support here. The people all seem to have lots of positive energy aand a willingness to help others! I'm finding it very inspiring and comforting... The others here really know what we're going through and that means a lot, doesn't it?

I'll be checking on you whenever I can. Keep up your excellent progress!

Thanks Rox. It was swim or sink. I take it as a compliment though, she sees me getting healthier and looking better and wishes she could be that way too. But, on the plus side, she is eating (a bit) better! She had some of my stir fry and snacked on the salad I made :D So maybe I can show her that she can do it too!
 
Today has been great so far!

Rode my bike to work
B - Banana, Apple and Coffee
S - Green beans (fresh, yum!)
L - Avocado Cranberry salad (with some cheese) and a lean turkey breast
S - 1.5 cup of baby carrots

Will ride my bike home then -
JM 30 Day Shred Day 2 and ... something else, not sure haha
D - Ground Turkey salad with multigrain chips
Help a friend paint (that's a workout too!)
S - Babybel cheese, maybe with some whole wheat triscuits
 
Yesterday was good, similar meal plan to the day before!

No bike riding to/from work, rain *shakes fist* Went out to see a friend out of town, ate some jumbalaya (sp?) pretty much just the shrimp though heheh! Got Jillian Micheals 30 Day Shred Day 2 in before catching up in BL. GO DARIS!!

Today stepped on the scale - 174.4! That's down exactly 2 lbs since last Friday. Very happy with that :D Also only .4 to go before i lose 10 lbs! That's more than enough motivation to get me through the weekend :D

Today -
B - Grapefruit, coffee
S - Snap peas
L - Lean turkey, cherries, snap peas
S - Blueberries, babybel cheese
D - SUSHI! So excited! I found a place with nutritional information on the site, and I've got a great meal plan worked out. This will be the first time i don't use soya sauce, strange.

No biking today either, but next week looks like it's clearing up :D

I will do JM 30 Day Shred again today, maybe Day 3, and some strength while I'm catching up on ANTM!
 
It looks like you are on the right track with clean eating and lots of exercise. For sure you can meet your 150 goal by August!

By the way, I like Daris too, but I am rooting for Michael because we share the same hometown.
 
Incentive, it looks like you will definitely reach your goal if you keep eating
that way. Proper nutrition plus exercise is the ultimate combination without
a doubt. What part of Europe are you going to? As far as qutting smoking,
that is also quite impressive, most folks have a very difficult time with that.
