training for a cop

im 17 and im on my way to being a cop. i was wondering if anyone knew what kind of workout(s) would be good for me. ie strength, mass, endurance, etc. I was thinkin i want to get good size like brad pitt in fight club. would that be good for me? sorry if thats dumb but i want to look good too:cool: right now im about 6 foot and 150ish. so should i bulk up get cut? i dunno help please

Mate you gotta start doing some reading three threads wont give you the same answers that you will get from self directed learning.

You for sure shouldn't cut - unless you're carrying a lot of weight, you only cut for vanity reasons imo (unless you're a boxer going for weight classes or something like that), and at that weight you certainly aren't carrying much weight. Do some weight training along bulking principles, and lots of endurance training.

I was training to become a soldier once, I split it about evenly between running (and swimming, but you won't need that as a cop) and weight training - I ate a lot and gained lots of endurance, strength and mass. It turned out that was too much weight training, I couldn't support the gained muscle in the army, but that's different for cops I guess - and some mass is probably a lot more useful to cops too. About the running, if I was training to be a cop, I'd do a good amount of HIIT for the running, isn't it more about burst speed than long range endurance?

If you haven't got any martial arts training, start doing some boxing and/or brazilian jiu jitsu.

You have 30% body fat and an account at Dunkin' Donuts?

Sorry man, couldn't resist. Chillen used to be a cop so he should have an idea about their required strength standards.
Things might have changed since he applied though as he's so old. When Chillen became a cop his first patrol was along the east coast to check for British invasions ;)
