Totally winded/exhausted after time on treadmill today-any idea why?

I have been walking for about two months now on a treadmill..been set at a 15% incline for around 30 minutes a day..sometimes twice a day..I usually have it set at around 4.0-4.2 MPH..I do this with usually no problems. I have been doing this 5-6 days a week..I am a 30 year old male..

Today I was winded..could barely finish 25 minutes..I was tired and having trouble completing it..definitely not comfortable..nothing was hurting me..just did not have the same endurance I usually have..not sure what happened
Usually I come off the treadmill and can jump right into weight training, but I could not do that today-had to take 5 minute break

Any idea why I was so tired all of a sudden today? I didn't think endurance could go down when it came to cardio exercises.

Sounds like you are just having a flat day. It happens from time to time. You just can't lift that weight today or you just can't get to that speed on the treadmill. It's ok everyone has it , it might be your body saying i need a rest. Have a day or two off and come back to it!

it could be you are coming down with a cold/flu etc,or you could have been overtraining and need a break,do you go to faliure every workout on the weights.

It happens to every body. Some days I feel so weak I can't do any pull ups but then the next day i am able yo pump them out, or another day my dips or my bench suffers, but then it picks up the next day.

if it happened only 1 day, nothing to worry about.

It happened again today at the gym downstairs..
The only thing I can think of is the speed is out of wack on it..it has to be running faster than the stated 4.1 MPH that I have it set on..

My reasoning is I went to the YMCA last night after work(have a membership at both gyms) since I was worried/concerned about my prior workout performance. I was able to do what I usually do with no problem. 4.1 or 4.2 mph at 15% incline for 25 minutes..comfortably..could have done longer but the gym was closing..

Very strange how I have two different results on two different treadmills despite same speed/incline..

It sounds like you are due for a medical checkup. A 30yo man should not get winded walking on a treadmill, especially when you were able to do this previously.

Called my doc..made an appointment
I am not sure how I can do this 4-5 days a week one week and then have trouble the next week.:(
I did today for 25 minutes..I was winded..pulse around 164...cardio training rate for a person my age is 172..
Maybe I am just anxious?

Like one of the above posters said
a "Flat Day"

I had one last week.
I burned out after 1 mile.
But two nights before I went close to 3.

So I was surprised, Gave myself a good 3 Day Rest
and got back at it

GOOD LUCK!

Your estimated max heart rate at age 30 is 220-30=190. 70-85% of MHR is recommended for cardio. That would be 133 - 161. 172 is definitely on the high side, almost 90% of MHR.
