'Toning' and Cardio

hi all

just been reading through the 'new posts' since the last visit and 2 posts contradict each other. Both are discussing toning up.

One says do cardio everyday, the other says split weights and cardio into different days.

Im doing the first at the moment, and have been thinking of switch to alternating days to try to remove some stubborn body fat. But that would reduce the amounts of weights i do a week (currently each muscle group 2/3 times a week for 30-40 mins each time)

what do we think?

i have a certain slot i like to work out in (when i wake up) and i alernate my workouts then (yoga/pilates/weights).

Cardio is for the evenings.

cardio and weights on the same day has a higher risk for stunting muscle growth, and causing muscle loss (however minute, is still a step in the wrong direction).

but if your goal isn't to be huge, but lean, ripped and with good muscle tone, then its not such a big deal.

However, since 40 mins of intense lifting burns as many calories as 30 mins of 'typical paced' cardio...its easier to achieve a daily calorie deficit if you get some form of activity every day....weights and cardio on alternating days.
