Tob's walkabout

Well I put "bud" because I didn't want to say butt, lol.. But since you said it for me....."YES" I did and now I am not sure if I can count any of the quest! I have walked 4 miles everyday since Wednesday, and stayed within my WW's points. Even quit drinking coffee until today. I will stick with it! But what's so bad I hardly like Pepsi, lol. Just a random think, don't know why I drunk the pop, just did.

THANKS for the hug!!

Wow, well im going to say perhaps you are gaining muscle mass and that is your reason for weight gain. But i am no doc... GOOD JOB on the 4 miles!

Well I realize that when you first start losing weight, you lose fast. Which I did, but now I don't have a lot of fat to lose. Thanks for the kitten! I just love a challenge and push hard to win, heee. Tik, the mirror might break, then I would have 7 years bad luck, lol.

Sure I will exchange recipes with you, but mine is just simple foods!!

Top I enjoy cooking and adding just what I want to recipes too. I mostly bake my meats.

I am listening to Jeff Foxworthy

Thanks for the hugs guys!!

Good Night Guys....oh did I tell you I joined the walk!

Keep up the good work Anna! And the mirror WILL not break! I always giggle when I say this to myself because it's so silly, but it works - Your body is a beautiful temple, embrace, love, and enjoy it!!!...and then I "ooom" hehehehehe

Mmm...tob! Those sound great! Have you tried grilling fish? I'm always so scared!!

I have once or twice, I used foil and olive oil... don't be afraid what is the worst that can happen from trying? Not a huge fish person! I have many times while camping cooked fish over and open fire. ( fresh fish ) and they always turn out good aswell.

Little tip on chicken and pork chops..

If you love fried chicken and fried pork chops try this...Don't fry! Bake.

I like to roll my chicken and pork chops in a little flour with a little salt and pepper (I use the "No salt"). After rolling your chicken in the flour, salt, and pepper mix. Pat it down all over with a little oil (%100 veg. oil or olive oil). place it in a sprayed or non stick cookie sheet and bake at 425 degrees. When browned good on the bottom you can turn and finish baking. But don't turn until it browns good! Most of the time I don't have to turn them. If you desire to bake a little slower set the even 350 or 400 degrees.

Always looks and tastes like fried. Make sure your chicken gets done!

Sunday I didn't walk at all, just 20 exercises and the quest and then this morning I walked a mile inside with DVD and did the quest exercises. I used the pedometer and started out with .66 and I deducted when I finished. I actually go over a mile with the DVD. 1.73 - .66 = 1.07 that is if my pedometer is corrected I plan to buy a new one. I have came to a halt with my weight. I want to get down to 145, but not going to cut my food down any more then I do.

I think i look pretty decent for my age, some people may think my gray hair makes me look older, but I quit putting color on my hair a few months back. My hair is more white then grey! heee. If you live long enough you will show your age..or use botox, heeee. But I have always ate right and tried to take care of my self. I never had a problem with my weight until after menopause and thyroid problem.

If that is your picture in your avatar..you are beautiful!

Beer in chile sounds good, but "ghost" peppers makes Chile have a good flavor. I haven't ate any thing this morning, so got to eat something. My sister wants me to go shopping with her today, but will talk again later.

Have a nice day!!

What is Sear streak? We haven't grilled for a while. I use honey a lot, but brown sugar with apples would be good. I use brown sugar and butter for sweet potatoes. If I fry, I spray my pan, that is the way I fry my eggs. I cut back the way I like to cook to keep my weigh down. But I still use butter (crock butter). Are you a stay at home dad? I would not mind if my Dh wanted to cook all the time, heeee. He mashes my potatoes most of the time and he likes to put butter, onions, salt and pepper. I make mine different. You give me your Chile recipe and I tell you what I put in my mash potatoes. My Dh couldn't understand how mine came out whipped smooth and creamy.:seeya:

Oh my...*drools all over her keyboard* You two sound like LOVELY cooks!!

I'm totally jealous that you cook Tob!! I've always been the one who cooks! yum yum yum!!

I have to say that I don't have any special recipes..I do make a feta, spinach and artichoke lasagna - which I think is TO DIE FOR!! it's so yummy, and I cut down on the cheese so it's really quite good for you!

I absolutely love grilling- but I do it over the stove most of the time- this summer though, I'm going to make a conscious effort to learn how to BBQ (someone else always BBQ'd for me :)

I do have a steak/chicken/fish marinade that I love! I like to put in a punch of crushed garlic, a 3-4 tbs of EVOO, 6-7 tbs of balsamic vinegar, dash of pepper, and a little bit of fresh dill....yum! It's so fantastic, and the meat is so tender!

Oh my...my mouth is watering !I'm going to have to go grab my lunch now!! hehehe

Hope you're having a fantastic day Tob! stay safe driving home!!

Same to you Anna!

*hugs* to the both of you :)

Wow, I think I'm gonna hire you guys to come cook for me!

Anna - I love ALL cheese, so I'm maybe not the best person to answer... I love feta and goat cheese, but they are completely different from each other... feta is quite salty and crumbly and goat cheese is smooth with a bit of sweetness to it... yum... cheese

to sear a steak you need a REALLY hot pan and you put the steak in and let it seal on one side then flip it and do the same on the other.

And i am sorry but you will have to buy my cook book when it comes out if you want that chili recipe haha!
in my mashed i put milk and somesour creme and some sweated leeks... Sooo good!

Also yes Feta is great. Try this!

2 cups Fresh Spinach
1 Bosc Pear
Feta cheese
Dried cranberry
Candied walnuts.

Put the Spinach in a bowl and cut your pear into wedges.
Pour Feta over the top just a light amount add some dried cranberry.
and candied walnuts.

To candy walnuts get a small pan,add a spoon of white sugar put it on medium heat. add the walnuts and keep tossing. as the sugar starts to dissolve remove form heat and pour into a dish add to your salad! be careful Melted sugar ( Carmel ) can still be VERY hot.

Now for a vinaigrette. in a small bowl combine a spoon of Spicy mustard.
2 oz of sunflower oil and a splash of pineapple juice 1/2 spoon of red wine vinegar ( add it to taste to your liking ) and salt pepper.

Wisk until it is all blended.

enjoy.

I have a few dressings i use for salads... my whole family goes nuts over this one.

2 oz Olive oil
2 oz sunflower oil
1 0z rice vinegar
splash of sherry
slat pepper..
They LOVE that.

if you try any of these let me know what you think.
