Tired of sucking it in

Hi everybody,

Been watching this site for a while now and finally want to start a diet and fitness routine and stick with it. As the title of my thread suggests my diaphragm is the only muscle I regularly work out sucking my gut in. My main objective is to regain my fitness levels and cut out the rubbish in my diet. I'm trying not to focus on the weight loss primarily as I find that I often plateau at a weight.

Having said that my current weight is 225 lbs my target is 175 lbs.

I run for fitness and have a plan in place to run a race in April.

I will post as I go along with my weekly diet and fitness achievements.

Thanks

These are the following indiscretions to my diet for Tues - Sun (03-08 Jan)

breakfast ; Bacon rashers x 2

mid-morning ; White pudding

Hash Brown

lunch ; Chicken Burger

Chips

Foot Long Subway

dinner ; Oven Chips x 4

Christmas Cake x 2

Toast w/ butter x 4

Chocolate cookies x 7

Lasagne

Double Quarter Pounder

Drinks

Tea w/ milk x 15

Coffee x 4

Guinness x 2

Can Coke x 1

My major weakness here is not being prepared for meals especially as the day goes on.

Also want to cut down on the tea w/ milk and try to gradually replace with green tea.

Hey welcome to club

It's good to see people trying to become healthier and good luck in all your weight loss!

However, you should really cut out things like pudding, white pudding is one of my all time favourite things but damn is it fattening, therefore, I have given it up! You should try switching any white bread to brown loaf as its healthier, and trust me it becomes so much nicer than white when you start eating... I mean, you just feel 100times better and less bloated (ohh same thing if you eat white rice, brown rice is yumm).

Other than that, good luck on your journey and I'll be keeping an eye on this page as its hard to find people who enjoy a good cup of tea as much as me ;)

These are the following exercises I did for Tues - Sun (03-08 Jan)

Thurs - 1/2 hour Exercise Video

Sun - 3 mile Jog

This is a start but I've made a lot of excuses like the weather etc. Going try to do the exercise video more this week.

How are the video exercises going this week? Good luck getting back on a roll.

Any plans for what type of race you're shooting for in April?

Hi Diamondapple, thanks for your support. The first week was pretty bad due to no preparation. I'm in Ireland as well so I guess that's where our common ground on tea and pudding is. I'm definetly feeling a lot less bloated this week after cuting out a lot of bread (only wholegrain and no more than 2 slices a day).

Feelinggooder, the exercise video is good but very hard. Shooting for a half marathon in april, have been doing a bit of running last few years but not much lately. trying to do some proper training and get fit again.

Starting again. New year's resolutions only lasted so long. Had a wake up call yesterday, was beaten in a race by a few at work some of who I thought were much less fit then me and some which are a lot heavier. I have lost a bit of weight since start of year but am just as unfit.

Starting weight - 218 lbs
