Hello Friends,

I am 24 year old engineer. I have been trying to shed some weight for quite sometime, but no success. Instead I have gained as much weight as I wanted to lose. At 24, I am at 230-240 lbs. with height 5'8". :(

I feel my main problem is lack of exercise and more importantly lack of any schedule. My work doesn't allow me to have a very predictable schedule. Some days it's terribly busy and others it's very free.
I decided to have a Gym schedule couple of times and did went couple of days but somethings urgent come up and it's all back to the old routine.

I really need some motivation to reach the goal....

would appreciate any help....

Motivation has to come from within yourself, support you can get from outside sources but only you can make yourself do the work and want to accomplish your goals.

I assume you make time in the moring to brush your teeth and take a shower - make the time to work out.

Plan your meals out ahead of time and decide what you're going to eat that day so you don't fall into old habits

It takes 28 days to build a habit it's often said, spend the next 4 weeks building new habits...

What Mal said couldn't be more true. No one here will be able to get you in the gym. If you don't make the time, you have to take a serious look within and figure out why. Why do you want this? What are you willing to do to get it?

You have to get a lot of positive emotion attached to becoming more active. If you don't make your mind believe it's worth it.... you're never going to stick with anything.

I always say this to people who say they don't have the time:

I've trained a single mother who was putting herself through med school.

If she can do it......

I hope you find the motivation.

I'd also like to add that your main problem most likely isn't your exercise. It's more often due to diet. How are you eating? What are you eating?

Do you still have your gym membership?

Thanks Maleficent!
Thanks Steve!

Last night I did some effort and went on a walk around my apartment... i will try my best to keep it going for next 28 days.... :)
is evening walk as good as morning walk?

regarding my eating habits... I skip breakfast and lunches often... it's irregular...
someone suggested me to have smaller portions of meals every 4-6 hrs.. but i could never follow the schedule... i end up eating a pizza or a burrito ... :(

i have recently relocated to this new city.. so don;t have a gym membership here.. but we do have gym facility from my employer....

thanks again!
