Tips on increasing energy levels towards the end of the day

Recently I began playing ice hockey at least one night a week, sometimes two. This usually occurs around 8pm. I wake up at 4:30-5am do my various things and then work 8-9 hours. Needless to say by the time 8pm rolls around I'm worn out from the day and I don't have any legs left for skating. Can anyone offer any suggestions?
BTW sometimes I will get an energy drink (sugar-free of coarse) and sometimes this works and sometimes it doesn't. Either way I read somewhere it isn't a good idea to drink one of those before intense sport because of insulin levels I imagine. I thought about taking a Stacker or something similar but I think it would affect my sleeping taken that late in the evening.

The best I could recomend is to take a look at your diet. What are you eating and when? Make sure that the meals you consume later in the day will provide you with the energy level necessarry for HOCKEY (capatalized for respect of the game). Other than that, your looking at sleep or supplements.

How do you feel once you start skating and get some adreneline going?

i know what you mean, at the end of the day i'm tired, too - i think that's normal. maybe if you push yourself on certain days, then get extra rest on the others, it will help. for sure to lay around jsut because you're tired doesn't do any good.

Caffine, the best drug in the world, i am on a cutting cycle and i take hydroxycut about an hour before i work out just for the caffine rush, i know its bad but ....... so is alot of stuff.

i might as well just take caffine pills

Hydroxycut ::blargh::. I recommend looking into Xenadrine or Tight. Both are more potent thermogenics and give you more of a stimulant kick.
