Tips on HIT cardio

I'm not sure i understand the question. You want to know a typical HIIT routine? I personally use my elliptical and do 40 sec sprint and 80 second jog for a 2 minute total interval. repeat this 10 times and thats about it.

HIIT can be done with almost any type of cardio : running, biking, elliptical trainer, row machine, etc. Experiment with interval lengths and methods and see what works for you

thanks junkfoodbad; i was wondering how long a normal HIT routine would last. Ex: if i wanted to do sprints and jogs i would sprint for x seconds then jog for x seconds and repeat x times.

start with what i suggested and play with it. There is no real rule. just whatever allows you to finish your exercise. I just keep the intervals at 2 minutes cause its easy to do 10 and have a total 20 minute workout. Easier than trying to do math while running

hmm...that sounds good since i hate cardio; do you have any suggestions on how many times a week to do it? Thanks for the info by the way

it all depends on your goals. If youre main goal is to lose fat, then i would suggest 5-6 times a week. But if you are looking to bulk up, then i would reduce it to days where you arent weight training to help maintain muscle development.
