LJ - you were right, the weight only lasted a couple of days. Phew! It's amazing how some foods just lure us in.
Oaks - Unfortunately no, the 'hotel' was actually more like a tiny transportable with bunk beds.. I would have been more comfortable sleeping on a rock I think.

I'm back! Yippee!
The trip was great - I *love* Melbourne, the people are awesome, the shopping is fantastic, it's all just so wonderful. The horse event was a huge success, and everyone came home happy. Unfortunately I was sick for most of the trip, stomach issues on the way there, then I had one cider (as a celebration drink) before boarding which gave me hell on the flight home. While I was there I felt off too, but that's ok. I tried new foods, and attempted to eat as healthy as possible, but I wont lie, alcohol made it into my system, along with some naughty treats. I don't drink a lot, so one drink was enough for me, and I did have a very, very nice fresh pineapple margarita, one glass of wine, and the cider I mentioned over 8 days. That's the most I've had to drink all year!
Luckily there were fresh food selections, I had foods like grilled Mexican chicken (non spicy) with salad, bbq lamb and salad, baked potato with salad (lots of salad!!).. very yum!
I failed at my attempt to do any exercise in the cabin for 2 reasons .. 1. I was sharing a bunk, and 2. I literally had no time. It was wake, dress, walk 10 mins to the cab spot, work for 11 hours, eat, sleep. We did get a TONNE of walking in, and I stressed that I was going to put on weight, but was happy to find out that I didn't! Woohoo! I even lost 1kg a few days after returning, so I am now down 7kg in total.
This week hasn't been great for food or exercise.. I had my first take away burger from Hungry Jacks in over a month, and it was disgusting. What was I thinking??? I also had a coke with it, which both reminded me why I don't eat that crap any more - it's nasty. So with that reminder I'm eating better the past day, getting back into the walking routine has been difficult with the wild storms we've been having, so I've only walked once since returning home, but managed to keep it at a 7kg loss.
I am a push over. A real push over. Last year I quit hospitality and swore I'd never go back, yet some how I have been roped into waitressing a function tonight with my sister at a place I've never been, and people I've never met .... how did that happen? I am weak. I should have said no, but with Christmas coming up I could really use the cash. It's just a once off job, so hopefully my back wont suffer too much (one of the reasons I quit).. but working with my sister?? I tried that a couple of times in the past, we don't work well together. My level of service is very different to hers.. I am *hoping* that I am on the floor and she's behind the bar.. or it may get a little tense. I hope my uniform still fits .... didn't think of that!
