Cate - thank you!! The fudge really is yummy - and so easy to make!

LaMaria - thank you. Yes, I can feel it. My stomach doesn't feel so bloated, and my hips and sides feel different. O/h says I look different around my hips, bum and sides.. it's nice to know he can see it, even if I can't yet.

Sunflower - thank you! We saw another 'glider' today .. so magical. One day I'll run effortlessly!

--

After a rather quiet day, I worked this arvo, and then went on an hour and a half walk with o/h and Juno. No running, as it's still sore, but I'm trying different taping methods to see if one works for me. We walked around 2 ovals, and up the Killer hill again tonight, which I was not in the mood for. I am so thankful to have o/h as my walking buddy in the evenings, to have him there to push and support me, but also to be a witness to his journey into fitness as well. Quite magical :) Juno is getting fitter as well, she's looking a little more toned, and she is able to walk for longer which is awesome.

I read an article this morning that it's becoming a 'thing' to drink energy drinks as meal replacements. At first I was shocked, but then realized I did this (without realizing it) when I was working full time in the stables, and in the restaurant. At one point I was quite addicted to 'V' energy drinks.. I couldn't go a shift without one (I cannot stand RedBull). One day I realized just how much I was drinking of it, and cut myself off cold turkey. Never looked back - best decision I ever made.
But with everything being so crazy, so rushed, and little time to sit down, enjoy and process our meal, it's a reality. I hope that people are able to acknowledge the dangers and hopefully stop.

I made icecream sticks today. I have been searching everywhere for 'Popsicle mold', and finally found some today for $10 - win! I blitzed up o/h a smoothie, and put in frozen mango and banana, splash of milk, blob of honey, and a good sprinkle of cinnamon and wizzed it up, and put it into the molds. Will have one for a treat tonight to test :)

I am enjoying finding healthier alternatives, and o/h (who is the cook in the house) is being really kind in helping me. I *love* pasta sauce, but I don't want the sugar-filled store bought ones, so today o/h said "Would you eat pasta sauce if I made it?". Yes I would!!! So I am on the hunt for pasta sauce ideas. It's not an every day thing, maybe once a week or fortnight we'd have pasta, so I'm not too worried about over-loading on pasta (I eat gluten free pasta, made a huge difference).

Right - dinner time! That walk made me hungryyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.

That's so great that you have someone who is willing to learn new recipes for you! The amount of sugar that is added to store bought goods is insane. The homemade stuff will be delicious! And it freezes really well, just make a big batch and freeze what you don't eat and you'll have homemade sauce anytime you want it!

Ah yes, weed wacking. I think I'm going to mix in "whipper snippering" with it, as well, since weed-wacking is a fun term, too.

That's great that your partner is willing to work with your needs. My wife's on board with me, too - she loves to make pasta, but she knows to limit the pasta and bump up the sauce and veggies a lot for my serving.

Great job on the weightloss! I know how you feel with worrying that you aren't doing something right when you aren't losing yet. I have slipped up and had an occasional energy drink lately. So bad for me. I feel bad every evening when I've had one that day. I have to stop that. I buy one when I'm out in the field and a gas station has no or questionable coffee. I have to stop doing that.

Oaks - I am very lucky to have him by my side every step of the way. Love the idea of freezing the sauces!

LJ - Weed Whipper Whacker Snippering ... now THAT is a title!
That's awesome that your wife is on board with you. It makes the journey that little bit easier. Yummy pastas - I tend to over eat pasta, especially the good ol' spag. Do you make your own sauces to go with it?

Q - Thank you for the encouraging words :) It's easy to grab an energy drink (but then I don't drink coffee).. wouldn't beat yourself up about it, there are worse things! And if it's only the occasional one it's a treat :)

No weight loss this morning, no worries though. No gain either, so I'm happy!
Went for a walk this morning, I almost wasn't going to as the weather looked threatening, but pushed myself anyways. Re-introduced some jogging which was nice, but boy oh boy my joints were feeling it! But it was only gentle and nice to be moving again. Also stormed up the Killer hill and felt GOOD. Hard, but good.
Ate really well today, but by this arvo I was craaaaaaaaaaving a burger. I told o/h who said we could have A burger (no chippies) from the local burger place that hand-makes all their patties. I had a vegetarian burger (chickpea patty, beetroot, onion, cheese (naughty!!), lettuce, tomato, avocado), with water. No chips, and surprisingly I was full! Yum yum yum. Feeling very guilty about it, but I figured it's only a once off and it was the healthier of choices.

On a brighter note, o/h's mum commented that she is seeing a difference in me!! Woohoo! That's really nice to hear :)
While we were waiting for our burgers, I was saying to o/h I wasn't feeling a difference. He said that my waist feels trimmer, and my hips have changed. Also my face is changing, which is so exciting! I will get him to take a full body picture so I can keep track of the changes.

It was Juno's birthday yesterday, so we spent the day with her. Took her for a nice long walk around the block which she loved :)

I can't wait to get to 10kg loss now!!!! BIG walk in the morning, then farrier for the horses (they have some groovy stuff going on with their feet), and then another walk in the arvo I think. Come onnnnnn 10 kgs!!!!!

Fly out for the business trip on Tuesday morning (leaving at 5am - eek!), so I will be on my best behaviour with eating. I have some in-hotel exercises I can do, so I'm gonna try to keep up with it. My goal next week is to NOT gain the weight back.. I don't care if I don't lose anything, I just don't want to gain it back.

That's awesome news that your family is noting the differences! Nice to get those little boosters to keep you going.

LJ - thank you! It is very encouraging that others are starting to see it.

LaMaria - Hehe thank you :) I am feeling very enthusiastic! I hope you're skipping around feeling enthusiastic as well :D

Cate - hehe thank you!! :) At least it's a good contagious :p

5.6kg down (12.3lbs?)!!!!!!! Woooooohoooooooo!!! I finally broke the 110's!!!! 109.4 kg!!! Yippeeeeeee!!! So excited!! Even after my *naughty* burger treat last night.. I really wasn't expecting a weight loss (was hoping for no weight gain really). Ahh man, I am so happy!!
No walk this morning as I was feeling a bit off (from the burger I think), so will go for an extra long walk tonight. Just picked up a mates horse to get his feet done when the farrier is out later, but will go back up and do some mucking out and do some lunges and squats as I go. Ankles are killer today, no jogging for me, but will make sure I am walking 'with purpose' this arvo. Purpose being to melt the fat.

Caught up with my mate who is on the health path with me. Unfortunately she hasn't lost any weight (She did, then it came back). I am hoping she keeps going! Despite her lack of weight loss she is still looking really healthy. I am happy that she is going well, even if the results aren't on the scales yet.
Moved the horse, he was good (last time he kicked the heck out of my float (or if you live in the Uk, the 'trailer'). He had a mighty good hoon with my two which was gorgeous to see, until my two got themselves stuck in one of the smaller paddocks wondering why he was able to hoon in the big one. You'd think after living there for 5 years they'd know where the gates are ... ah well.

Feeling amazing. Toast with honey again for breakfast. Lots of water! I had a single sip of o/h's coke last night - yuck. Never been a fan of coke, but I used to *love* vanilla coke.. go figure. My headaches have decreased since cutting out processed sugars, and my back has been feeling a LOT better since exercising. I still feel that my hands feel different .. maybe I'm just losing the plot.

The great thing about how you do this is how many different things you observe. Getting so many data points for your change can only be a boost! Take care of your ankles though, if they don´t get better soon you may need to see a doctor/therapist.

That's awesome BlueBean! Nice work!

We have farriers here (US) and we call them trailers here too. I still don't know what hoon means in this context even after looking it up. Run or race?

Q - Hoon means to go fast, zoom around, to play with pace. So my lot were cantering and galloping around, racing eachother up and down the paddock.

LaMaria - thank you! I've finally noticed it in my face just last night.. I walked past, stopped, walked back and thought I didn't look puffy. Win!
I have decided I will not be jogging on the tarmac for a while, but instead walk and hour, and then a few times a week use the cross trainer :)

I was naughty.
Oh so naughty.
I had cashew chicken with fried rice from the take away shop... The shame, the shame, and the weight gain. A good 1.5kg hung around, I'm still .5kg up which is a bit boo-hoo, but not life ending! Felt fat and frumpy yesterday and was in a bit of a horrible mood, but a good walk last night helped. Juno and I strolled alone and up the Killer hill which seemed somewhat easier - perhaps it's because I didn't jog before hand, but it felt better. I am still in an unhappy mood, dunno why, but it's too warm to go outside to walk it off in the sun. I might go up to mums and use the cross trainer inside.. only managed 15 mins 2 days ago .. it has a 'weight loss' button which I pressed .. will try it again. Also need to do strength exercises today as well..

Packing for my trip next week, and I am looking forward to getting away a bit. We live surrounded by his family, and while I love them dearly, I do feel a bit suffocated from time to time.. I miss space. I miss not having to tip toe around people to keep peace, and to not be restricted by guidelines in our own 'home'. We live here by choice to save money to buy our first home, but I do often wonder if a slightly bigger debt is worth it to get some space... The break will be excellent, I just wish o/h could come with me.

That'd enough doom and gloom from me. I will be happy because I am lucky to live in such a beautiful country and own two beautiful horses :) My plan for today is to finish packing as much as possible, get some study done, and to ensure that the horses are set up so o/h just has to throw feed in and check their water. Pay some bills, do some exercise and that's me done!

Back up to 110kg today, poop to that, but that's ok! I will walk and do strength training to raise the heart rate.. might open some bills, that usually gets the ol' ticker beating faster!!

:D I want a machine with a "weight loss" button I just need to press too! :p

If you're still after a pasta sauce recipe... My favourite is lots of red pepper cut up finely and some in big chunks, a tin of tomatoes and finely diced chorizo. Fry off onion, mushrooms, courgette, whatever you fancy, then add the chorizo so everything gets coated nicely in the oil that it gives off when cooked (don't need to use cooking oil at all, only use small amount of chorizo as not very healthy but adds all the flavor!) then add the tinned tomatoes and a little stock and leave to simmer. Even better in the slow-cooker! Then serve with fresh basil over pasta!

LaMaria - it's an awesome machine, I think my mum has used it once? The weight loss button is a steady climb of intensity over 20 mins, and you can bump the intensity or time up the fitter you get. I'm still struggling with the 20 mins at this point, but I love it because my knees and ankles do not hurt like they do with running on pavement.

Sunflower - yummmmmmm!! That sounds amazing! I will be trying that when I get back, thank you so much :) I can smell the pasta sauce from here.. mmm!

Soo I've been a bit slack the past couple of days.. I've been in a real slump about exercising. Only this morning it's gone back down to 109.5kg after The Great Cashew Chicken Regret of November 2014. At least that weight is gone now, and I am never touching cashew chicken again LOL! O/h pushed me out the door yesterday for a walk, I was really just wanting to curl up in a ball and sleep after a huge day yesterday, but I'm glad he pushed me. He's such a good boy :)

Eating wise I've been good - I haven't counted calories for about 2 weeks, and I find this easier. I eat only when hungry, and make good food choices. No more than 2 pieces of chocolate a day, or a piece of coconut fudge. I will get back to writing my calories out I think, curious to see where I'm coming in.
Exercise wise I've been okay - I do one walk a day now, in the evening, as the weather is warming up. I've decided not to run on the tarmac, it's just too painful, but instead a few times a week I'll use the cross trainer at mums as well as walking every day. I completely didn't do the strength training last week, so I will have to do it today as I fly out tomorrow morning - eek!

I have written up some at-hotel exercises I can do, hopefully I'll get a little time to myself so I don't look too crazy in front of my boss LOL!
Walk tonight, strength training today, and eating healthy. I think I'll have a smoothie this morning for breaky :)

:) Was afraid it´d be harder than just pushing the "weightloss" button. I had one of those babies too but donated it to my dad when I moved to a place with an affordable gym and his elliptical broke.
Sounds like you´re doing great! I´m sure your feet/legs will adapt, but running on tarmac isn´t much fun anyway. No unpaved roads near your place?

Thanks Anna.Banana!

La Maria - Aw how kind of you! I bet your dad appreciates it :)
There are lots of dirt tracks, but it's dirt tracks + hills + unsteady gravel .. while I can, it's not easy. After school hours and on weekends I use the oval, but it's a lot harder to jog on the softer ground. I'll try building some strength (when I get home from my trip) and then jogging again.. my feet have stopped hurting from the new shoes (thankfully!), but I haven't tried running again ..

Ha - the Great Cashew Chicken Regret - I know the feeling. I'm still feeling ashamed of the Amazing Dorito Suction Event, and at least yours had protein and good fats! Anyway, one night's not a killer, and if it's Chinese, it's all water gain from the sodium.

I'm so glad to hear your feet are feeling better! Have a great time on your trip, let us know how the hotel exercises go. Do they have a gym you could use, too?
