Hi everyone
My name is Katie and I'm new to the forum. There is so much great information on here and so many threads that I have read have been very helpful.
I am looking to loose about 20 lbs and keep it off long term. I used to dance professionally and be in amazing shape, but a couple years ago I got injured, had to stop dancing, and took the opportunity to go back to school. In the past with as much as I danced I never had to monitor what I ate, so as soon as I stopped dancing I gained 20 pounds pretty quickly. I have tried various diets and was somewhat sucessful with a couple of them, but I never stuck with them long enough to reach my goal weight and I always ended up gaining the weight back. I tend to get very discouraged when I don't see quick results (which I know is not a good thing), but long story short, I want my old body back!
I am 5 feet, 4 inches and 135 lbs. I know that doesn't sound too bad, but I have a very small frame and right now the majority of my weight is fat. I decided what I need is a lifestyle change (working out daily and eating right). So, I have cut my calorie intake back to 1300 calories per day and have been eating only lean meats, fresh fruits and veggies, and low fat dairy products. I also re-instated my gym membership this week and have been working out 1 to 2 hours per day. Hopefully these changes will get me on the right track for good.
I look forward to talking with everyone
Katie
