Tight Leg?

At the beginning of my exercises I always warm up by running for 10 minutes. Lately, I felt that the muscle in front of my leg is so tight when I run, and I cannot complete 7 minutes!!

Have anyone experienced something like this, and what do you recommend?

Note: I have been exercising for 4 months now.

Sounds like you may have strained or hurt your quad muscle. Probably just needs some rest before you hurt it worse.
Do you do any stretching before you run? If not it may just be tight.
Just be careful I tore my quad muscle several years ago and it took forever to heal.

if you have problems warming up specific muscles you can try tiger balm. it might smell a little but it will get muscles in gear if you feel sore or whatever, its just good. just dont rub your eye after you've used it, like I did if you do it will be the last time you do it trust me :p

Thank you for the response..

Actually I don't do any kind of stretching before running, do you recommend anything?

I will try tiger Balm .. Where can I find it?

Is the pain right done the middle of your leg or is more to the side? If it is more on the outside, which I have a feeling it is, you've got an IT Band problem.

The IT(Illiotibial) Band is a connective tissue that runs down the outside of the thigh on top of the muscle. Often people who are newer to exercise, especially running have stiffness or pain like you.

Massage on the area helps, along with icing and rest(ie warm up another way like on a bike or row machine for a little while. Also, any sort of hip-flexors stretches may help as well.

I really like lying flat across a bed with you feet dangling off the edge. Have someone push your leg down so you feel a stretch hold there for a few seconds release, then try to push down further. Your legs will feel great after that kind of stretch.

Hope that helps
