Ugh, I'm guilty of diary neglect !!

YES, you HAVE!
There's quite a void when you're not around!

My worst enemy has been idleness and I'm glad I'm finding things to do, it just goes along with weight loss in such a complimentary way.

That's a great testament to better living!

I have been disabled since August of '04. I suggest, if you have the time, read my first page or 3 of my diary. I'm pretty open, honest and shameless about my slobby life in there.

hehe Debi, I tried the "better living through modern chemistry" thing, didn't work out so well :( *whispers that was a few decades ago tho*

I trust you held the fort down in my absence. :)

chemistry? I took earth and Space science, thats probbally why i'm a dumb ass:eek: If only i had learned to mix the right solution i could have come up with an obesity cure *sighs* oh well guess its veggies friut and ass bustin exercise instead, Sorry guys:( :D Keep up the good work school boy, don't get stuck in the corner or wind up in the pricipals office getting spanked!!!!!!!! Just read it. Glad to know where you've been and how you've gotten here. I liked the catabolic info...

Catabolics are:

A list of foods that burn up more calories through digesting than their caloric value at consumption.

Example: A raw carrot many be 25 when you eat it, but the body will burn 75 calories digesting it leaving you with a negative balance of -50 calories.

Catabolics as a whole are IMPOSSIBLE to gain weight with by themselves. The trick is utilizing them enough times a day while enjoying other foods that will assist your diet because generally a person can't live off of catabolics alone. They are boring and there's only so much you can do with them with adding rich dressings and other sauces that ruin their affect in their best value for dietary purposes. You will have to find protein sources in larger quanities outside the catabolic group but the catabolic family offers lots of nutrition and vitamins. Everything on the list is good for you, it's just a matter of selecting what you like and putting them in your plan.

The List:
Under Fruits are apples, kumquats, apricots, strawberries, limes, tangerines, blackberries, nectarines, currents, peaches, watermelon, cantaloupe, mangoes, and about twenty other fruits. Listed as vegetables are asparagus, green beans, cucumbers, peas, string beans, dandelion greens, celery, dill pickles, beets, carrots, leaks, lettuce, mushrooms, and almost every other common vegetable

Thx Patty :)

I can't emphasize catabolics enough but I've kinda stopped 'suggesting' them on here. I learn we all have to find what works for each individual and on that note I just avoid the 'do what I do'.

I'm glad to share my info on this and another diary. A post like yours really makes my day that someone takes the time to read the important stuff whereas I do clown a lot, I hope no one underestimates the hard work and commitment I (and we all) do.

The diary section has taught me several things:

We each have individual challenges.

We all have different goals.

I need to be patient in understanding each individual - and I think I've come a long way in that dept.

The combined effort of collecting information on here is a blessed event and should be taken advantage of by 'day one' people well into the advanced, experience lifestyle changers. This truly is a 'no one left behind' message board.

This is a great place to vent, clown, blow off steam & bellyache through a miserable time.

I observed gimmick plans are the lowest returning posters on here and those getting a new regime in menu and exercise are the "biggest losers" and post here often.

I know we all have weak moments - including me.

Coy quotes look good on you
Nope, not coy - I've seen that job - I don't want it!

As for your catabolic information, it's always good to revisit it. I think Twinny and I were the two who challenged you the most on your diet when you first joined, but I don't remember anyone else who had a hard time with it. You clearly knew what was working for you and shared a great deal about catabolics (which I knew very little about) - that's a whole different ball park then when someone comes on the board, said they only had 850-900 calories, and it was composed of fairly little nutrition.

Low calorie

I myself have used the extreme low calorie diet. I knew while I was doing it that it wasnt the *right* thing to do, however, it worked for me. It worked for a couple months anyway and then I stopped losing. At this time of my life, actually just a few months ago, a few changes took place in my life and I was surrounded by fast food. I went from eating 800-1200 calories a day while running 15-20 miles per week to eating probably 2500 calories a day for a couple months. Interesting thing about that is that althought i was eating at least twice as much, and all grease and not excersizing quite as much, I still lost weight! Why? Probably cuz my metabolism shut down at 800-1200 calories and kicked in at 2,500. When you shock your system like that interesting things happen. I know it may be hard to do but I would recommend going 800-1200 (cuz i dont think anyone is gonna tell you influence you to do otherwise, although it IS way too low for you) and then alternate between that and 2,000 every other week or every two weeks. You may be very pleasantly surprised.

On the flip side, I havent been eating good for a couple months now and even though I havent gained weight, I have gained a bit around the waist - I need encouragement myself to get back on track. Still excersizing a lot but not eating good at all. Thanks - - Melissa

I have to admit, my first instinct was to to on the crash 800 calorie diet thing and then it occurred to me that that isn't going to help me live my life better... just make me miserable and skinny. So I found this lovely place :D

This truly is a 'no one left behind' message board.

You're not kidding! This is the most comfortable place I have ever been apart of, it's like a huge support group. *tear* I love you guys! :p :)

Anyway - have a great day. :D
