This Trucker Fights Back

That's so cool we have a National Diabetes Month ad in here. It puzzles me how low the diabetic count is in this forum, seriously low discussion content.

My diabetes forum is the same way with 'diet and food' discussion too, probably their most sluggish area.

Gawd, they're so related.

Justa breezin' through and slapping a few reps. My 24 hours is up - I think.

Randy, does exercise lower blood sugar? Is it true that taking a walk after a meal is good for you? I need to read a book about this. just curious. Love ya!

Absolutely, Val !! burning up those starches and sugars is fairly important an hour after consumption. Heading it off before saturation is pretty clinical. I tend to see my sugar count rise without exercise consistently, even if it's a slight increase.

Taming ones' diabetes is group effort of food choice and exercise. I don't think there is complete success with one and not the other, just moderate control if one was to skip one or the other. The leading edge would have to go the diet though. Lets face it, you eat starchy, sweet stuff, well the amount of exercise would be ball-busting to override a bad diet and you'd have to stay med-dependent.

Love ya back !!

That's what I suspected!

I've been a GOOD bunny with foods. I made a dish with erotic rice, yams, fake chickin, bell pepper, garlic and onions that I been eating for the past 2 days. No candy, just chocolate, and I've been trying to avoid cookies and ice cream and so far, so good.

*pets the good bunny*

You did write before, and still worth being proud of your wisdom, eat like a diabetic before you become a diabetic. I  your thinking along that line.

You know I gave up a handful of years not thinking your way...

You don't have to tho..

just sayin-

Thank you, that is a great point!

But it's not just thinking--it's feeling *overly emotional female alert* Simple sugars make me FEEL like crap after a while. I can tell that they're no god for me. But unlike the AIL that's no good for me, I can stay away a bit better ;) Have a great night!

The fresh chickas come around when you say hi to them! It's not a hard thing to figure out.

I looked back through some of your diary! You have had a LOT of success. Congratulations and KEEP IT UP!

Absolutely. And it's not likely to come at the exact right moment every time either.

This is an important discussion I reckon.

I'm sure that there are plenty of people (women?), like Curvie and myself who are massively affected by our blood sugar levels in a way that influences us to feel bad and eat bad. There are a few books and web sites that call it sugar addiction, and the "eat like a diabetic before you become one" idea seems to fit in well.

I find it personally interesting because it's had such an impact on me. I was going to say that the sugar addiction writing, was quite helpful in taking me to a place where I had enough theory to help me get started on my journey here, once I got my motivation properly seated, and the bright idea to join a weight loss forum. Thinking back as I write this I'm now aware that I had the food plan given to me 14 years ago.

I love to see Curvie and others figuring these things out for themselves while they have so much more time to get it right.

Great comment, felici :)

I'm stoked. Heading out on the bike here in a few minutes. It's 60 degrees and a lil sloppy out but wth, let's do this !!

Should I be this guy ?? I'm thinking about blowing off T-day and getting in line for 24-30 hours at Best Buy to compete for one of those 199.99 pc Black Friday deals.

I've been piecing together the logistic and all, it's doable. heh, it's so crazy I just might...

Welp, gotta ride. Peace (of pumpkin) y'all.

Thanks Felici. I still eat lots of sugar! LOL! But in the form of Acai juice, fruit, agave nectar, and organic vanilla-maple yogurt! *ahem* aside from the damn chocolate...;)

Happy "Let's not eat the whole pie" day!! My mom and sister made 8 pies for 12 people, 5 of those being children. Is that insane or what???? UGH

Enjoy your Turkey day!!
