Third Time's The Charm

This is a regurgitation of my Newcomers post to give you a bit of a background on me:

This is my third go at weight loss. The first two times didn't work out too well and I gave up easily. I like to think of those first two times as learning experiences. It has helped me figure out what works for me and what doesn't.

So a bit of a background on me. From childhood through middle school I was of a good size. A bit thicker in the stomach, thighs and butt but overall average size. High school though I started gaining a bit more weight but nothing that made me think I would be the size I would eventually become. Later in life I lived a very sedentary lifestyle and along with an addiction to sweets, carbs, regular sodas and the internet I really started packing on the weight. After I met my soon to be husband I ballooned up in weight a very substantial amount. Once I got married I became and stayed overweight ever sense.

I believe my heaviest weight was upper 220's or lower 230's pounds. When I decided to loose weight I was 222 lbs. First go around with weight loss I lost no pounds. Second time I got down to 215. And this time around I have gotten myself down to 206 pounds. I haven't been doing too much to loose weight, if I tried too hard I gave up too quickly. I have cut down on how much I eat (not necessarily what i eat), started drinking more water, started walking about 3-4 miles a day at work, and cut out sodas.

It is still a work in progress (weight loss) and I am sure that there is much more learning to do but I am hoping that 3rd time is the charm.

First two pictures around 3 and 2 years ago respectively and I am about in the upper 220's or lower 230's pounds. Third one is around my 20lb lost mark (222 to 202) taken Halloween weekend .

So a few days ago I ordered Jillian Michaels - 30 Day Shred on amazon. Hoping to get that soon and to start right up on it because I want to finish the thing before my Husband and I's romantic getaway to Bent Creek Lodge in Asheville,NC. I decided to take my current measurements and take some pictures as well. I plan on doing that during each phase of the DVD.

  • 204 lbs
  • 39 chest
  • 39 1/2 waist
  • 47 hips
  • 24 thigh

Forecast today said rain all day and all night. Thankfully it was clear enough when I got to work that I was able to go walking with a co-worker before the bad weather rained in. I was hoping it would clear up that I could get in at least one more round of walking in but alas it wasn't to be.

When I got home I popped in a workout video, first time I have and I have the DVD for 4 months + (can't remember the name of the DVD off the top of my head). It was pitiful. I could hardly do the exercises, let alone do them properly for the most efficiency. I think I got 10-15 minutes of the video done. Don't know how I am going to handle the Jillian DVD.

Haven't felt my heart beat that fast since I don't know when. Like I said only did about 10 minutes of, how terrible is that lol. Going down the stairs at home I felt like my legs were wet noodles.

Past two days have been drinking more water than I have in awhile. Usually I only drink about 32 oz a day, not enough at all. Today I have had about 88oz (is that enough you think?) It's a bit hard but I am determined to do it. But I am proud of the fact that I haven't had a regular soda (oh how I use to love thee) in 3 months now. So close to being under 200lbs right now. It is near I can feel it. I really need to stop looking at the scale so much. I know the more important thing is inches lost but it is so hard not to look at the scales.

How do I insert a picture by url into the post instead of as attachment?
