thin everywhere but the gut!

Hey everyone,

I'm a fairly fit guy but body type is fairly thin (I'm 5'6'' and 130 pounds). My problem is that I have very little fat everywhere except my midsection. I want to do a lot of cardio to lose the fat there but I'm scared I'm gonna lose muscle and weight by doing so. Is there a way for me to get a 6-pack without losing weight or the other muscles on my body?

Thanks!

Hmm, lemme take a stab at this one! Someone correct me if my advice is wrong.

From what I understand, the reason why your six pack isn't showing is simply because your body fat % is too high for the muscle to show through. The best (maybe only) way to loose that fat is diet (along with exercise). Break down your meals from 3 a day to around 5-6, eat smarter/healther (avoid sodas, candy, jams, peanut butter, etc etc), do cardio (my fav. are sprints for one minute then jogging for 30 seconds, repeat, rince, wash ;)), and if you're afraid of loosing muscle, do situps as well. What i do is run about 3 miles a day (little more sometimes), and do various types of crunches. This is important because if you're doing the crunches that target the upper stomach muscles, and ur gut is on ur lower two muscles, it's not very beneficary. Also, make sure u allow time for your stomach muscles to rest (dont worry, your stomach muscles rebuild alot faster than your other muscles, as a quote from someone in the board "they're made to take punch after punch ;)), or else you know what'll happen ;).

Ok, now is where i wait for people to correct me ;)

Thanks Bikeage!

I've read somewhere that you can train your abs everyday. But then I've also read that you should skip days. I'm confused!
