Theory on cutting...

That's good PWO for bring you back up to speed. However, I generally go to bed after my workout, or try to at least.
 
By no means is this a scientific or proven approach, but what I've been doing is 50% caloric intake (I know, very low,) but my diet is comprised of roughly 30% protein, 31% fat, 39% carbs (those numbers are just how things turned out after analyzing them.) It seems to work for me pretty well. I gained some muscle strength while also losing 25 lbs in 1.5 months (yes I also know that this is a dramatic cut,) but it was 99% fat.
Edit: Forgot to mention that this diet was supplemented with hour cardio sessions along with an hour lifting session.
