The Ups and Downs

So this isn't your standard one shot from before, one shot after kind of post. This is more of a look at the ups and downs I've been through to keep me motivated to get back to where I once was, and to also stay away from other times in my life. I don't know specific weights for all of them, but I think it's better to not fix everything on a number and just go with how it looks anyways.

Around sophomore year in high school I was doing weight watchers and I think this is the lightest I've been. I wish I could know exactly how much I weighed here, but I'm not sure. I want to say 170.

I'm not really sure what happened to cause it, but suffice it to say I got off WW and gained a lot of weight in junior and senior year of high school. I remember going to the doctors and finding out I had gained 50 pounds in a year, so I was probably somewhere in the 220s or more. This picture still sort of surprises me.

Starting college I was still pretty heavy.

Last summer.

Now we're up to winter break. Shortly after this I started watching what I ate and exercising more regularly. So I was probably a bit more than 212 in these.

A bit over a month after I started.

Spring break, about two months after I started.

These were two weeks ago. I'm not the focus of these pictures but I'm the one in the ridiculously bright blue shirt.

And I took these last weekend I think, at 184 pounds. I'm going to try to take regular pictures to record my progress from this point on.

Yep! It's hard for me to believe and quite exciting. Oh and I forgot to mention, I'm 5'7".

:hurray: Yay! Congratulations on your loss so far! It shows nicely, and you must be feeling so much better! Keep up the great work. Incidentally, are you losing with WW again?

cheers
ABBA

A trainer at the gym said something to me the other day that I hope helps you at some point in your journey. He said, "isn't it a great feeling to know that you are going to look better at age 30 than you did at age 20?"

You're on your way...

Thanks everyone! And yes, ABBA, I'm using Weight Watchers again but not going to meetings. Just counting points on my own because it's something I'm used to doing and seems easier than calories. If I start hitting a plateau, there's a nutritionist that's free on campus so maybe she could help me out.

You are doing a great job so far!!! No matter what don't give up, it isn't as far away as you may think. Looking at how far you need to climb is much worse then actually doing it. You are almost there!!!!

Wow those pictures are great!

I am in the same boat as you. I started HS around 150 lbs and piled on to about 190-200 Freshman year. Sophomore year I got down to 170, and from then onwards I slowly went up to 220, and back to 200 my Senior year. After senior year I got to about 185, then slowly went up to what I am now--243 (245 highest) So... Now is the time to lose ALL of the weight and keep it at bay!

Please post all of your progress pictures! You are like me as we both seem to accumulate weight on our tummies the most, but you have thinner arms which I do not! ;)

Great job on getting to 184 so far! I hope I can look like that at 184...
