The lay down

So since the begining of summer till now i gained 10 pounds. From 158 to 168. Sooo i was thinking, "why should i lose all the weight when i can take this fat that i gained and turn it into muscle". So is this a good idea? I know i probably wont go back to 158 if i decide to make muscle instead of burning it off. The size i want to be is medium. not huge where i have to gain like 20 pounds of muscle but like a fairly good size that will keep me in the 160 range. So i should hit weights more than doing cardio right? Then in august i can start to cut right? I was also wondering if there is a end to bulking and cutting? or do you switch every few months? O yea, the weight came from junk food. HAHAHAHA i know. I lost it. lol.

u don't turn fat in to muscle u lose fat and replace it with muscle...if your 168 with 10 extra pounds of fat on you (at least) and you want to be 160ish then you'll need to lose probably 15pds 1st of fat then bulk back up to 160 with minimal fat gain and maintain that before making other moves...fat loss is 80% nutrition

You gained 10 pounds? Teach me! Hehe, I'm bulking right now. I've gained about a net 6 pounds in two weeks. People with bigger bodies, even if they're fatter, they can lift more. It's that simple. I'd say keep the weight, and just do weight training. Then cut at the end of the summer.
