The biggest loser show (biggest looser)

I may be fried alive in EVOO for saying this, but I LOVE Rachael Ray. She has never once gotten on my nerves. I think she is adorable and even my kids like to watch her show. *let the stones fly* :) :)

I agree this show rocks. I cant miss a second of it. Then again, any weight loss show is a must watch in my house.

Also, i can only take Rachel in small doses or she gets on my nerves.

Nah, no stones from my camp. When she's not getting on my nerves, I find her cooking quite interesting. I've done a few recipes from her show, yummo. :willy_nilly:

Biggest Loser workout DVDS

I worked out with Jillian today!!

Well, kind of. I did the first phase of her "30 Day Shred" DVD...Totally kicked my butt and I literally cried. I pretended that she was in the room with me, yelling at me to keep going and not to stop for a break! I took a break a couple times so that I wouldn't die, but not longer than 5 seconds each time. I got a lot of stress off and am looking forward to doing my "Bob" DVD tomorrow :) He's much nicer to me....hehehe (In the first phase of "Biggest Loser: Cardio Max" Bob is the trainer and he talks to the screen as if he knows the person doing the workout LOL!!! I smile like the whole time I'm working out! I love him!!!!...."You told me you wanted smaller thighs! C'mon, you can do this." I could pinch him!

Well, the root of that matter is that the way and speed at which the contestants lose weight is not ideal...or very realistic. I think those who are against it oppose the health risks to a viewer who would try to mimic the losses of a contestant. I think most who are against it would view it as a crash diet (which I am not sure it isn't) and that it is not very healthy.

The thing about the health issues that conflicts me is that there have been several contestant who were borderline diabetic and saved themselves from that by the end of the show. So even if the speed at which they lose weight is not ideally healthy, it does obviously have some health benefits to some individuals.

Either way, I LOVE the show and will continue to sit on the edge of my seat throughout the whole season. :)

Hi Ya.. :seeya:

I have watched TBL since it first aired and continue to watch each season.

They have always explained and showed the doctor visits/tests they all get before starting their journey.

They are not on crash diets and their journey at camp is extremely healthy.

They explain in detail that the reason e1 responds so well and loses at a quick pace is bc they work out 4-6 hours daily..
They get one day off/rest (which is not shown as part of the show) and on that day they have a "cheat day." It's not extreme or anything it just helps them to knock out some cravings in moderation so they do not feel deprived.
They still have to stick with the calorie range they are given as well on this day.

They are all watched/helped by the trainer's and doctor's while they are at camp.

The viewer's that may think they can lose like that during the show or whatever, have to remember to use common sense. :) lol..

No, most likely you will not have results like this or that quickly bc you are not in a controlled enviorment, you will not have a personal trainer working with you for 4-6 hrs. per day, and so on.

The point of the show is to inspire & make you think about your health and life which is does.

So many viewer's have reached their goals bc of bein' inspired.

The show helps those that watch obtain inspiration, gain important facts/knowledge re: weight-loss, and helps e1 to to see that you should never say never. While of course bein' entertained as well. ;)

Yeah, they are really good at explaining how they are acheiving this kind of weight loss. Actually that black screen at the end that says "All of our contestant were monitored, etc." always makes me sad because it means the show is over for the week. *sigh* I agree that the people on the show are safe, but still...working out 4-6 hours a day is not realistic for the average person. Not unhealthy...just not something that is attainable for the average joe....or joesephine. Personally, I love the show and even considered signing up to try to be a contestant. (I just don't have enough to lose anymore...which is a good problem to have). BUT- I still get tons of inspiration and motivation from the show and will continue to be a faithful fan until they just stop airing it!

Glad to meet another die hard fan!

I cant wait as well. I love this show. I wish they would have 24 live feed like they do for big brother. Maybe it's a good thing because i wouldnt get anything done.

Also, i wish someone would buy the rights to the other seasons and replay them. I have seen them before but not nearly enough.
