TGD17's Battle Of The Bulge !

I am originally from California, now live in the northwest. Big change for me. I am not going to let it stop me from working out though.

Day 6 - New Cardio Routine

Thanks to Kara & her insight I altered my Cardio routine. I got up this morning & did a 10 minute warm of up pure jumping jacks & another Cardio warm up(not sure what its called). Drenched in sweat, headed out to the driveway & RAN it. Got down to the end & RAN back, did 100 jumping jacks. Best workout I have got in a while & the first time I have ran back n forth. Also, I did it all on an empty stomach & I am not feeling queezy. My workout ended up being 20 minutes. My goal is to be able to do 3 of these, 20 minute per day workouts eventually & being able to sprint the distance of my driveway. Now onto my food :)

Workout I:
Warm Up/Run- Warmed up for 10 minutes, doing jumping jacks & other cardio. Then ran my driveway back & forth for the first time in a long time.

Breakfast:
Oatmeal- No additions to it. Had it an hour after my workout.

Lunch:
Tuna Sandwich- Instead of mixing the entire can with mayo, I just spread a small bit on my sandwich thin - Then just put the tuna right on my sandwich. Added lettuce & mustard too.

Snack:
Left over stir fry veggies & steamed brown rice- Mmmmmm...

Workout II:
Inclined walk on treadmill(That I just fixed !)- Walked a mile in 17 minutes, average pace of about 3.5. Incline of "3".

Dinner:
Frankfurters- Boiling em as we speak.

Gotcha on the calories thing. The thing is that you HAVE to count everything. If you drink a lot of milk, then you're probably getting quite a few calories that you're not counting - so you're actualy probably closer to being within a healthy range of cals.

8 oz of skimmed milk is 91 cals. 8 oz of 2% milk is 122 cals. So if you drink 4 or 5 glasses of that per day, you're looking at an additional 500 calories or more.

Congrats on pushing the exercise to the next level. I think you'll see lots of additional benefit to that.

After my workout, I spent most my day fixing my old Artictrack exp2001i treadmill & its now working :D No more freezing runs for me :) Plus I can monitor calorie loss & how much I actually run.

Well now that your out of the Driveway which was kinda weird and your inside, if you really want to lose weight get into shape, that means you need to improve your running and cardio which you have been trying to do. Check out this website

idk use it if you want

Thanks, but I am having fun figuring this out for myself, creating my own routine :hurray:

The thing is that you HAVE to count everything.

Most the food I make is home made, particularly when it involves meat it is very tough to count those calories.

Here is the site I use when counting calories. It is very accurate, even when it comes to meats. It also counts Burned calories.

Keep up the great work. Jumping Jacks are killer. If I could remember exercises from my Navy days, I'd suggest them in the mix.

What do i know, but i do not think counting calories accurately is very important. It is nice to know, but for me i am able to know what i used to eat, use mainly common sense in knowing what foods are really bad, and not eating them. If you eat foods known to be healthy for you throughout the day, maybe have a little Debbie or something that will not kill you. Pretty much if you have common sense you know what is good and what is bad, and you can guess what a portion is. That's just me. For meats as long as the portion is fine you should be fine. I mean i know before i would eat a whole portehouse which i can assume had many calories, but now i could eat a portion which i assume is less.

95% of what I eat is homemade ... I enter my recipes into a calorie program and count the calories that way. Once you've entered it and figured it out, you have it for future reference. :)

Given your previous posts saying that drunk driving is safe and advising people to misuse prescription drugs, and so forth, I'd think that you might want to back off of giving advice for the time being. Quite frankly your advice is not accurate, is dangerous, and has advocated illegal behavior. Seriously - maybe you should read more and post less.

Day 7 & 8 - you thought I gave up didn't ya !

Missed my journal entry yesterday, so here it is a day late...

Breakfast:
Nothing -

Lunch:
Two Leftover baked chicken legs -

Workout:
Ran a mile -

Dinner:
Pastor Taco Plate - Figured I skipped on breakfast, might as well.

My ol friend came to visit me and we drank some empty calories, but I think we burned the majority of them off with a 2 hour hacky sack period. Also had some late night clam chowder. My "cheat day" :p

And here is todays...

Breakfast:
Nothing - woke up late again...

Lunch:
BLT - on a sandwich thin

Snack:
Small bowl of clam chowder -

Workout:
Ran the mile - The treadmill is so much easier on my feet then the hard driveway. Not to mention the cold air. I got running shoes ordered from Amazon.com, can't wait to put some mileage on 'em ! Best mile so far on the treadmill, 12:00.

Dinner:
Mediterranean Chicken & Onions - The skin of the chicken is stuffed with feta cheese & sun dried tomatoes, but I took the good stuff out and just ate the chicken :) It was too salty for my tastes. Had it with a glass of leche.

Not sure what I am going to do for dinner, but will post when I eat it :D Also, weighed myself this morning, 233 :sifone:

Well i have a few questions. So you were fat, that means you ate lots of food, little Debbie, whole cakes whatever you could your hands on.....But now you somehow can eat pretty much nothing. I do not believe that you have not had a candy bar for 10 day or any chocolate or sweets, as you claim you do. I mean unless you are eating ungodly amounts of food, when you say Spare rips or sloppy joes, your whole journal does not make sense. You seem to have no appetite, which would not explain why you were so fat. You are either super human and go without food, or are not telling the whole truth. Lets say this were all you were eating, you will never keep it up

Mainly just cut my portions severely, drink at two tall glasses of water before & after meals - Leaves me very full. I hate lil debbies, cakes all that crap. Only time I sweets is when I head over to my moms & she makes some great pies, but thats only like once or twice a month and only have one piece with a glass of milk. Night snacking was a big problem for me, so I shut it off. I brush my teeth after dinner and just drink water or chew gum.

As long as the pounds keep dropping, I am going to keep up the way I am going.

Today for breakfast I had a pancake(1) and two eggs with some syrup on top along with a glass of milk.

No I don't take sleep aids. But keep up the negative talk, its good motivation :) Maybe I'll run two miles today - Scratch that I'll wait till my running shoes get here.

TGD - don't let the twerp posting here give you a hard time. This is the same guy who signed on under another name claiming to drink 50 drinks a weekend and saying that driving drunk was perfectly safe, but not driving in blackout unless he "had" to.

When we banned him, he came back claiming to have a multiple personality disorder and is now posting under this name, talking about how people should convince their doctors to prescribe ADD meds illegally to be used for weight loss purposes.

He has no clue what he's talking about and he's just here to stir up trouble. Don't let him discourage you or make you question yourself.

Sorry kid, if i offended you which it does not seem like i did. But yeah i guess that is great, i guess i was just relating you to myself, i have not been eating alot, but when i do eat its been healthy. Not sacking at all seems hard, but now when i snack instead of chips i go for an apple or an orange. How dare you hate lil Debbie..Com'on Man. I started a weight loss journal also, i had two slip ups this week, one bad one, one was just a normal bowl of ice cream. But i have been doing a good amount of workouts, but nobody seems to comment on my journal.
