Temptations

I'm sure this has probably been asked lots of times before, but what sort of thing does everybody find a temptation?

For me I think it's mainly when others around me are eating nice things... and when it would really be much easier to join in. For example if I am out for the evening with friends and they all decide they want a KFC or similar, but I have to sit without eating and then find something healthy to eat without disrupting the evening. I think where I spend a lot of time with friends (and they are all guys with very good appetites!) that does cause one of the biggest problems for me, that's when I start to feel a bit resentful that I have to do things differently.

The same can be said of my family; if we get together for a special occasion and there is good food laid out for us all it's hard for me to ignore it and reach for a lettuce leaf.

How about for everybody else? What do you find the hardest part of everyday dieting?

well i personally find kfc inedible... but -- there's no reason why you can't enjoy a piece of chicken and a few french fries with your friends if that's what you enjoy... as long as you aren't having half the bucket - don't deprive yourself... Check KFC's website for the nutrition info and find a way to make it work within your calories for the day...

cheese is my big temptation... It's something I absolutely LOOOOVE... and will have it in small portions...

You can have anything you want really... as long as it's inmoderation...

I am a big out to eat craver not fast food but a nice steak
house that has the evil dinner rolls best potatoes steak or
chicken breast geeesh I am drooling now lol! Oh then there
is "ANYTHING" peanutbutter, I have at times a peanutbutter
spoon to cure the craving or peanutbutter crunch made by
slimfast! Tammy:D

Dark chocolate and ice cream are both by biggest temptations! I absolutly ADORE them! Now I know dark chocolate is good for you if you have it in moderation because it has healthy antioxidents in it, but the moderation part is very hard for me LOL. And the ice cream...well...It has milk in it so it can't be that bad for you right? LOL I wish. My problem is is that whenever I deprive myself of something that I love for a long period of time (like the chocolate and ice cream) I always end up binging on it later (BIG surprise LOL) so I've decided that for 1 day a week, I'm going to have a small amount of something that I crave and leave it at that. Like for example, I bought myself a huge dark chocolate bar from the store the other day, so I'm going to eat it little by little by having a small piece of it for one day a week (preferable Sunday). So thats my new plan, and I am DEFINITLY going to stick to it.

Ha.... well KFC was just what sprung to mind because my friends love it... personally I find it pretty inedible too! I don't touch the chicken there (or anywhere else either, since I dont like it) but I do eat the chips and corn-on-the-cobb when we visit. It's more the fact that I'm there and know that really I shouldn't... like if we were to go into McDonalds or anywhere else that serves food dripping in grease.

I know I can have small ammounts of things :) but generally I choose not to to lose the weight as fast as possible.

There are lots of different foods that tempt me; Hash browns and wedges are particular (unhealthy!) favourites as I'm a potato fan. Plus sweet'n'sour sauces, and of course chocolate. But I manage to resist those types of things without too much of a fight if I'm at home cooking for just myself. That is why I say my biggest temptation comes when in company who are eating "naughty" foods and I'd like to join in.

Everyone once in a while I'll get a weird craving but it's never for the same thing....once it was pizza, another time it KFC, last time it was freakin' hamburger that turned out to be 1400 calories!!!! Eek!

I'm definately not participating in my husbands 'day off diet day' this Saturday, I totally can't handle the consequences (or possible consequences) of eating a whole day of whatever I want. Maybe a part of a meal--maybe. I like losing weight better than a couple mouthfuls of food. :)

my temptations don't really give in that often... unless... and here is where it all goes down hill I go out of town.

If I'm on the road, I tend to give in to the fast food frenzy. A&W Mozza burgers, onion rings..... ohhh the aorta stopping goodness! I really have to tell myself to continue driving until you find a delli or something where you can get something healthy.... of course, sometimes I don't listen to myself...

*sigh*
as luck would have it, I have a road trip Saturday. More time on the road this weekend than actual time at my destination.... which could be a problem.

LOL! When I ready everyone else's temptations, i'm all "YEAH! Dark chocolate! Oh, fast food! That sounds good!" So I guess that can only mean on thing.....I LOVE FOOD! :) LOL!

I looove sweets. Cakey stuff... Cake, donuts, cinnamon rolls, cookies, omg... they are my weakness. I would be thin if it weren't for sugar.

I have a soft spot for potatoes, chocolates, potato chips, spicy tapioca chips, spicy fried chicken, and Macdonald's... *swoon*

Byebye lovelies. *sob*

change for life I'm the opposite... I dont miss the chocolate etc much, infact I rarely EVER eat cake or desserts. For me it's the savoury food I am tempted by... potatoes, pasta, etc are my favourites. Salad cream, mayonnaise, coleslaw etc is what makes meals interesting for me.

As I said... I can manage quite well when I'm alone but when I'm with a group who are eating together then I find it harder.

Kaitie-- I love what you said-- I think this is my new motto:

"I like losing weight better than a couple mouthfuls of food."

I love chocolate. I don't eat it anywhere close to every day (or every week...) but I do love it. I'm also a sucker for chicken strips with honey mustard. Mmm.

Biscuits, gravy, and Blackburn syrup

Wahoo!!!!! Throw them three on the plate and I will hurt myself. That's an East Texas/Arkansas delicacy!!!! My mouth is watering just typing this.

I thought id be tempted by cokes, but really it's the PIZZA!
i haven't slipped though, ive grown to love water and my new diet.

I will admit I did check out the nutrition facts online at various pizza place's websites, but it is easy to tell myself i don't need it. So I'm all good. :p
