Good morning all,

I am sad to say that so far I have not yet lost anything on this challenge. At first I was loosing, but then gained it all back. Must have been water. I had a couple of bad days where I felt I ate more then I should , although calorie wise fitday said it was not too bad. Seems like I stayed under 1300. But those bad days my activity level was up as well, although having more food probably slowed down my weight loss considerably. I usually loose smth about every 2 - 2.5 weeks, and I'm approaching that mark, so I'm getting a bit antsy about the numbers. :) I'm keeping my fingers crossed for loosing smth this weekend. Really would love to see 130s showing up...

Oh, yeah, my calories came in around 1165 yesterday.

I HEAR YA, NTL!! So, far i have a ZERO loss as well for these two weeks. Been good, not too sure what is up but we just have to stay on track and keep exercising/hydrating/eating right...as you tell me, it's gotta work!

Yesterday for me was pretty good...I was craving a burger SO BAD (which probably means I need some sort of iron, but anyways) but i was caloried in pre-dinner at 600 calories, then went to pilates which was awesome strength training and then (that is when the burger cravign happened, yikes!). Anyways, I was good - we went out to eat and had grilled portobello mushrooms, zucchini and spinach with a little bit of wild rice. Very filling and I was so happy I didnt choose the BAD food :). Hope everyone is doing well.

You know Skyler, they do say that the last 10-20 lbs are the hardest to loose! You and me are on those hard 20 lbs. But at the same time I'm really happy that I don't need to have a bigger goal in order to be in the healthy weight range, I really don't think I'd be able to handle mentally a larger number. Sometimes even 10 lbs seem like such an impossible goal. But, I know you and I will get there, it just will take a bit of time and staying good consistantly throughout that period. BTW, did you measure yourself?

Speaking of being good - I was not good at all, on my last splurge today! Went to chinese buffet with bunch of people from work. We celebrated Chinese New Year. I'm not chinese, but few folks here are, so we took it as an exuse to get together. :) The problem with buffets is that there's always too much food. I ate 200 cal breakfast, and will not eat any dinner, just so I can keep my total calorie down as much as I can. I can't even begin to think how many calories I ate. Saturday and Sunday will be detox days. I naturally eat less on weekends, so will try to stay around 900-1000 calories.
Definitely 30 minutes of biking every day. Hopefully that will make up for today's trip.

BTW, Skyler, I'm so proud of you! Resisting a burger craving! That's just near impossible for me!
You may be craving protein, since you're doing a lot of exercise and probably building muscle.

Hey! Yes, I am glad to it is the last 20 lb range, but it is still tough. I measured myself a while back and actually lost the info in a recent move :(. BUT, my clothes are looser and i think i dropped a pants size (or at least at some stores) so I'm assuming I lost inches. I must be craving protein, that makes sense. We are going out tonight so I'll probably get some fish. Thanks for pointing that out. We are also going out to see music so unfortunately, i will probably have a few drinks, YIKES! but will hopefully dance 'em off? i know that is a pipe dream...just hoping to stay in caloric range as it is friday! i normally take friday off as a rest day but i think i am going to be able to get out of work early and go hit the elliptical before my FH gets home. That would be an awesome surprise and boost for me (crossing my fingers). Don't worry too much about the chinese buffet. Buffets are SO hard to handle...You can't beat yourself up. If you are hungry later, EAT, but try for salad or light food b/c i know i couldnt last until tomorrow to eat again ;).

Whoo-hoo! A whole pant size! That means you lost about 2 inches from waiste/hips! That's a very good progress! All this exercise is def making you gain muscle. That's a good thing! It will make the fat melt away later on! Way to go girl, all this thing is paying off! :D

Ok, I just put everything in fitday and came up at 1900 cals! I really did not realize how easy it is to overeat that much! Yikes! I am counting calories for a very long time, that's for sure. I really hope it is an overestimate and not underestimate... he-he-he. Ok, on weekend the plan is to burn off extra 700 cals.

You're right. I'm not beating myself up, but I will make and follow the plan to make sure that I burn all those calories off!

Have fun on your night out! I have not danced in ages. Keep wanting to go out with the hubby, but things always come up!

well, if it makes you feel any better, doesn't look like i will be out of work early so my day of rest will actually be a day of rest...no elliptical today which is probably a good thing as i know you are SUPPOSED to have a day off...1900 calories? i guess chinese food is a no-no. i had a craving for that a few days ago as well!! HA!

THANK YOU!!!

Well, getting early of work is always a good thing, so I guess its not so good that you're not... ;) BUT, since you've exercised so hard for the last week, I think its a good thing you'll have a day off. Need that for body to recoup.

I even tried selecting lean chicken/pork/beef (a small piece or 2 of each for variety), and vegetables but what killed me were dumplings! Apparently they are like 300 cals each, and I had 2! Another 2 killers were small eclair-like thing and icecream, also came out about 300 cals each(according to fitday)! This was definitely a learning experience of what NOT to eat. If you're ever in chinese buffet, steer away from dumplings, eclairs and icecream, and you'll be ok! :) I think if I knew the calorie count for those, I'd get only 1 dumpling and skip either eclair or ice-cream or both, and I'd be around 1200-1500, which is what I was thinking all along.

Anyway, I'm just in shock that I ate over 1.5 of my daily allowance in 1 sitting. I just did not think it would be that easy, that's all. I'm ok though. Just have to make a plan and deal with consequences.

Have a good Friday night, Skyler, and go easy on that wine! :p

Hey girls sorry I haven’t been around its been pretty busy here. Good luck with the challenge and kick some butt.

Thanks, Rosered!

Sorry we had to vote you off the team since we did not even know your starting weight...

I hope you're doing well!

Ok, I worked out yesterday on a bike for 30 min. I thought I was going to have time to exercise before I had to leave the house, but it does not look that way. I hope to do it when I get back. I ate breakfast, 150 cals. Whoo-hoo! It funny, but I'm still not that hungry from yesterday's meal. Thankfully my body is realizing that it had enough food for a while. :) Intend to eat as light as I can today, a lot of salads and veggies, without starving myself.

Hope everyone will have a great day! I'll check in later!

Well, I came back and I'm really pooped. All the recent exercise I did is finally catching up with me fatigue-wise. While I was out, I did ok on calories. Had 619 so far, with only dinner left to go. Unfortunately exercise does not look very good today, b/c I'm fatigued and feel weak all over - need to take it easy today. Tomorrow I'm going riding so my exercise should be good. :)

Oh, year, I lost 1 lb since yesterday despite that HUGE lunch - amazing what water weight would do! :) But I'm not updating the ticker yet, as the weight will probably be back tomorrow.

Hope everyone is having good weekend!

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't checked in but we were out of town. I'm really afraid I'm not gonna be alot of help on this challenge either. I did lose a couple of pounds but TOM is getting ready to start and I've noticed some bloating! Uh oh!!! Haven't gotten up the courage to step on the scale yet! Hmmm, well, we have our good weeks and our bad ones. The important thing is to not let the bad ones get us down, right???? Rhonda, I'm glad everythings ok with you!

April,

Don't worry about it, we all just do our best! Just as you said some weeks are good and some are not! Sometimes that water weight just skews off all the numbers. Last TTOM I felt like a baloon the whole time! Its like everything I drank and ate just sat in my stomack. Nothing I could do but wait. Thankfully it was over before the last challenge, and I could actually show some weight loss. :)

Don't worry about the scale. Just keep watching calories, exercise, drink lots of water, and we'll see what we get on Thursday!

I lost only 1 lb so far on this challenge, and I cannot even say with any certainty at this point whether it is a water weight loss or real weight loss. I guess we'll see on Thursday!

Its raining so I won't be able to ride today. :( I'll have to hit the bike for my exercise.

Hang in there everyone!

hey all. sounds like you are having good weekends. friday night was good, we went out to eat and i stuck to fish craving with veggies so that was good. no exercise (but it was a planned rest day). saturday wasn't the best with food choices but calorie wise it was okay. i got taken out for my engagement so the wine was involved! today has been good. i just havent been hungry. i had breakfast 250 calories and just finished 45 min on elliptical and 25 minutes of weight training, so gotta step up my water and be good for the day!

i'm sorry to say that i havent lost for this challenge either. unless a miracle hits by thursday then i am sorry too!!

Good morning! Well, Sunday was pretty good for me, managed to stay under 900 cals! Had soup for lunch and veggies and fish for dinner, so I was not really hungry. If I can have another low day like that, I will almost make up for my pig out, although thes days are lost to recovery.

Not quite sure either what's going on with my loss, if any. Today I went up to 140, but at least lost a fat %! At least things are changing up.

My weight loss is slowing down, its either because the initial weight loss period is over, or because I was not as good for the last week. Despite my pigout, my average calorie deficit was about 300/day, so I still should loose about 0.5/lb, right?

Skyler, don't worry about the scale! Plus, things can definitely change by Thursday. :) BTW, are you seeing any water fluctuations?

Everyone, have a great day!

Hey all. Good morning. I am seeing water fluctuations but it has never gone below 143 where i am stuck right now. I am thinking of changing it up just not exactly sure what the plan of attack is right now. I really don't enjoy weighing myself daily esp. since i am seeing only the upswings of water retention so i dont know. i am down today b/c i was good most of the weekend, not fabulous as there was a party thrown for my on saturday but stayed within caloric range and exercised plenty. hmmm? very confusing to me what i should try next...or what i should tweak! keepin' on truckin'....

Interesting about water fluctuations. Mine seem to go above and below a weight where I'm at.

I think it may help you to see a specialist - nutritionist/personal trainer. They may be able to pin-point better what's going on with your body and why the loss is so slow. I know they cost money, but it may be worth it having a piece of mind or maybe a better plan.

Good luck! I know things will change! :)

Thanks for the advice. I actually was a personal trainer/ nutritionist about 5 years ago and studied exercise science/physiology/anatomy in college so I'm very familiar with how it all works and all that jazz...also still have a lot of my books...don't really think that will help. (I had to quit due to lack of income from that job!). It is just a matter of 'tweaking' something and i'm not sure what just yet. But, thanks for help.

Ooops! Well, then never mind. Forget I said anything. I'm surprized to the lack of income... There's a perception that personal trainer/nutritionist type services are very popular.

Sounds like you have more knowledge to back you up then any of us. :D
I just think that you're doing everything right, and it will work eventually. I just keep thinking of what else can be done...

Since you are exercising a lot, I am thinking that muscle building is a very big factor here. Someone suggested awhile ago to stop exercising to see the scale move... It seemed very unlikely to me, but if added muscle what is keeping scale from going down, then stopping to add muscle via exercise may help nudge the scale. Although I personally think that you're probably better off to keep building that muscle and exercising, b/c you it will make you feel and look better, and will burn more fat in the long run.

I just know you will get there, Skyler!

yeah, i'm not too sure about the quitting of exercise to lose...i dont think that makes much sense but i have heard that taking a week off here and htere helps...i'm not ready to go there yet...i think exercise is a POSITIVE to weight loss and i dont want to quit my routine yet. we shall see...it is very odd but with all yall's help, i'll figure it out somehow!! I just have to!!!
