TC's Diary

Hello everyone,

I guess I should start by giving a quick introduction of myself. I am a 19 year old male weighing in 205 lbs at 6'3". Roughly two years ago I was a steady 180-185 competing in several varsity sports, after suffering shoulder surgey after a sports injury I became very sedentary for an elongated period of time and bounced up to slightly over 250. I was very uncomftorable with my weight but after being sidelined with a more or less athletic career injury I became stuck in what seemed like an unavoidable rut. I have worked my way back down to near the 200 mark over the last few months and have plateau'd My personal goal for the end of summer was to break under 200 with a longer goal of 185, 6 pounds for August I feel is more than reachable at this point. My main reason for wanting to put up this diary is exercise for me isn't a problem I've always been athletic and still even in good shape at an overweight state so it's always come naturally, I'll be playing collegiate baseball this year, another reason I need to drop to my weight of best shape. Currently I run anywhere from 4 to 8 miles per day 5-6 days a week and weight lift 4.

I feel my problem lies in the fact that living in an apartment with several other college aged kids isnt exactly friendly to what I consume. I've managed to drop thus far without too strict of a diet simply based on a heavy training routine. Now however I am at a point where no matter how hard I train it's simply a matter of monitering my diet (alcohol intake definately fits in there as well). It seems to me that without having it in front of me / having to type it out I will always be able to sidestep things in my head and not be accountable. I will record my food / drink intakes daily in here as well as my workouts so I can hold myself accountable for what I do every day. Any comments as I go are definately appreciated and thanks for anyone who made it down this far. Cheers.

Hey man,

I know exactly how you feel about the injury...

I played football at about 250 (strong tackle), and just after senior year season...I blew out my acl, mcl, and pcl in my left knee. I kind of gave up on all physical activity and let myself go.

Getting back into working out makes you feel great doesn't it?

Congratulations on having a great summer success story, and keep going for the rest man...you're doing good so far it sounds like.

Hey mate!
Good luck, it sounds as if you're onto it already. Good luck, I'm 19 myself and living in a flat with other Uni students! Tough isn't it!
