Tamara's Weightloss Journey!

You may be asking why would you look up in detail what you ate calories and such? To hold myself accountable. To learn from my mistakes. Because were going out to dinner (most likely Chilis) on September 2nd and the 16th (Anniversary and my Birthday, we have a kid, so... it's not like we can go anywhere too fancy)... so hopefully they won't have the 3 course meal for $20, lol, even if they do, I'll just get something off the guiltless grill menu, which do look really good!!!

^ EXACTLY. you got the detail down to a T. you know what, I truly believe being AWARE is the best way to learn from the mistakes!

I am so so SOOOO proud of you for logging in your exercise now. Seriously Tamara, you're owning this weight loss!!! Just reading your journal gave me that extra bounce to make sure I get my ass to the gym tonight!

Also, since you're off your TOM by now? I bet the pounds are just dropping.....

Yeah off it since Sunday. I weighed in today at 254, which is a 2.4lb loss. That was the day after eating at Chilis, so we'll see once I get the sodium flushed out of my system. Having like 3000mg today doesn't help though, grrr.

It's not that I'm now logging my exercise, it's more now I'm starting to exercise again, lol, and log it too. It's really not much exercise, like 35 minutes. I need to get more in, somehow.

Also, I don't at all feel like I'm owning my weight loss...
I feel like crap - depressed - emotionless.

Todays food:

Fruit cup, string cheese, lean turkey, wheat crackers.
String cheese.
Healthy choice turkey medallions w/ mash n gravy and apple/cranberry/sweet potato blend.
6 cups of popcorn.
Banana.
Broccoli/cheese/tomato sauce/turkey bacon wheat quesadilla pizza thingy.
Fudgesicle.

26.5 points.
1383 calories.
47.24g fat.
23g fiber.
3146g sodium.

4 bottles of water (8 8 ounce glasses).

I know, not even close to enough calories.

Tempted to drink some soda or eat something else.

Thinking of jumping on the elliptical again because I feel so fat/lazy/sluggish at the moment.

I did more exercise!!! I'm sweating in places I've never sweat before, lol!!! Previous page has the rest of todays exercise on it!!

Elliptical, 10 minutes.

Biceps: 8lb weights 2 sets of 15.
5lb weights 1 set of 15.

Triceps dumbbell extension: 8lb weight 1 set of 15.
5lb weight 2 sets of 15.

Squats: 8lb weights in hand 1 set of 15.
5lb weights in hand 1 set of 15.
3lb weights in hand 1 set of 15.

Chest and shoulders: 5lb weights 2 sets of 15.
3lb weights 1 set of 15.

I've noticed that when I do the triceps dumbbell extensions it works my triceps out a lot more than when I do each arm separate. Also, it took me 40 minutes.

So, that's a total of 85-90 minutes of exercise today! Wow!!! I think that's really good (for me!)

So I was looking through my diary and I found my measurements from last May and July, so here they are, along with my updated measurements, I'm really surprised by some and a little disappointed by others... one thing I do have to remind myself of is that I've really only lost like 26lbs since July's measurements. So, that's pretty good results I think.

Do you measure at the same area for your bust? That measurement seems a little off, since all the other measurements have decreased.

I'm actually not too sure about that, I'm pretty sure I did though. From 50" in July '08 to 46 1/2" now seems ok though, no? I think May's wasn't right though.

My internet was down last night when I got home from work, so, here's what I ate yesterday:

Lunch: Subway: 6" roasted chicken breast w/ monterrey jack cheese and veggies (lettuce/tomato/peppers/onion/cucumber), no mayo or any other dressing, bag of flat earth cheddar veggie crisps, and a bottle of life water.
Points: 14. Calories: 675.

Snack: Subway: 6" of above.
Points: 6. Calories: 315.

Dinner: Healthy choice veggie soup w/ double mozzarella/turkey grilled cheese on wheat.
Points: 12.5. Calories: 575.

Snack: Low fat fudgesicle.
Points: 1. Calories: 60.

Snack: Jello w/ peaches.
Points: 1. Calories: 80.

I really wasn't feeling good yesterday and needed to bring up my calories with dinner, so, because I wanted some jello and chocolate I went 1.5 points over today.

WW points: 35.5.
Calories: 1705.
Fat: 48g.
Fiber: 25g.
Sodium, over 3000mg.

Other than sodium, today was good.

Where is all your sodium coming from? Have you thought about changing up your diet a bit? I mean, sheesh, you're doing GREAT. but you can always do better (knock on wood)

I hope your weekend is starting well, and I hope your mood gets better! :) got any plans?

Here's how yesterdays sodium broke down:

Foot long sub sandwich: 1600mg.
Veggie chips: 250mg.
Cheese on sandwich: 180mg.
Life water: 55mg.
Soup: 480mg.
2 serv mozzarella: 400mg.
Olive oil spread: 45mg.
3 slices of turkey: 130mg.
2 slices wheat bread: 340mg.
Fudgesicle: 60mg.
Jello w/ peaches: 10mg.

It really adds up quick when everything has tons of sodium in it.

I can do better, your right. I just need quick foods to eat, which have loads of sodium. Anything from any fast food joint = loads of sodium. Canned soup = loads of sodium. Anything processed usually has loads of sodium.

I've reached a point where I feel like saying "fuck it!". It's like I can't win. It's either too much sodium, or perfect sodium, not enough fiber, or calories, or points, or not enough something...there has to be a happy medium, I just can't find it.

What can I eat that's quick, fiber rich, nutritious, and doesn't taste like dog food?

I suck.

And, the only plans I can think of is I want to take the baby for a walk to the park so he can play, but it has to be a nice day, and I have to wake up early enough to take him (I've been waking up at like 12-2pm lately, argh!)

What I ate today:

Breakfast: 1/2 cup blueberries with weight control maple brown sugar oatmeal and 1/4 cup of whole milk. 4.5 points. 335mg sodium. 5.22g fat. 7.7g fiber. 238cal.

Lunch: Plum tomato, 2oz tuna, dijon mustard, ranch (no fat, no cal, no sugar) with 15 wheat crackers. 4 points. 531mg of sodium (not including the sodium in the ranch??). 6.58g fat. 1.7g fiber. 227 cal.

Dinner: Lean cuisine chicken alfredo w/ 1 cup broccoli, and 2tbsp grated parmesan cheese. 10 points. 1063mg of sodium. 15.20g fat. 2.4g fiber. 474 cal.

Snacks I had through out the day: 1 cup V8 acai berry 100% fruit/veg juice w/ string cheese, vanilla soft serve on cake cone w/ 1 tbsp of walnuts, cup of lettuce w/ tomatoes and 1/8 cup ranch dressing and a fudgesicle. 9.5 points. 575mg of sodium. 20.25g fat. 1.8g fiber. 495 cal.

Total stats for today:
Only 28 points.
2504mg of sodium.
47.25g of fat.
Only 13.6g of fiber.
Only 1434 calories.

does the 2500mg + amount of sodium hinder your weight loss process? I don't know if it would...I never REALLY looked at sodium levels unless i'm eating frozen entrees.

The sodium has not been hindering my weight loss progress at all, even the 3000mg doesn't, so long as I drink all my water. I'm just going to try to keep it as low as possible, but I'm not going to worry about it as much, just keep an eye on it to make sure it's under 3000mg. Imagine how many milligrams of sodium I was consuming before I started this life style change? The thought scares me, lol.

Guess what? 252.2lbs!!!! :hurray: :willy_nilly:

:party::party:

THOUGHT SO!!!

hahahah DAMN girl!! what was your goal?? 240 by sept?? shit, i KNOW you'll see it!!

Yeah, I have a few goals going on, but one of them is 240-239 by September 16th (my birthday), I may even see it sooner than the 16th!! :D

Today I walked in to work and one of my co-workers said "Damn girl, your looking good!!" complimenting my weight loss, it was such a confidence booster, I felt so confident at work tonight, it was great, I was like "Thanks, no one else has really said anything", lol. I just recently purchased new shirts for work, mens large pink and purple polos, that fit snug, but still a bit loose, comfy... as appose to the 3XL I wore when I started working there last summer, and the 2XL and XL I was wearing because I was too lazy to go and buy smaller ones at the goodwill, anyways, that's why he was able to tell, lol.

Look at me go!! That's right... I'm the girl! lol.

With every pound that melts off, more self-confidence shines through! I love it!!! :)

Infact, I'm going to put that in my signature, lol.

I had to reword it for my signature, but the same meaning is there.

Today was so good! Delicious day, and I was proud that I opted for chocolate milk with dinner instead of soda... more sodium, but, more nutrition also!!

Tuna salad made with my no cal/no fat/ no sugar ranch and dijonnaise, wrapped in a whole wheat tortilla with 1/2 of a tomato and a TLC granola bar.

2 servings of V8 V-fusion acai berry 100% fruit/veg juice.

Hot dog on wheat bread with french fries and ranch dressing to dip fries in.

Sandwich, containing: sandwich spread, roast beef, 1 cup of lettuce, 1/2 tomato, and 1 mushroom, with a banana and chocolate milk.

33.5 WW Points.
2662mg Sodium.
51.92g Fat.
24.6g Fiber.
1772 Calories.

Water? Not nearly enough.
Exercise? Thinking of jumping my Hubby, lol.

jump on the hubby!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hehehhehe ;) oh yeah!

btw, I responded to your post in my diary <3

So with keeping your calories in the above 1000 calories has worked for you? Have you *ever* had fluctuation? Or do you just see lower and lower numbers (on consecutive days you're doing great on the diet)?

Also, how often do you weigh yourself a week?

...did you already jump on the hubby?....*WINK*

BTW, thanks girl! YOU are the reason why I come back to this forum EVERY night. Hahah, You're my weight loss buddy too! Thanks so much for keeping up with my diary, I know I'm not the funniest or most "dramatic" person...but hey, I really appreciate it.

Good luck with this week!!

Keeping my calories above 1500 works for me, under that and I feel like I'm doing something wrong, or unhealthy, or something, because at the moment I think I'm suppose to be eating like 1800-1900, which if I ate that many would be a 600-700 calorie deficiency without my exercise, so anywhere under 1500 isn't too good, especially if I hit a plateau, I have to have room to move my calories to get out of that plateau.

I weigh myself anywhere from every day, to every other day, to a few days, lol. I weigh in when I want to, lol. Like today, I weighed myself this morning, needing to go #2 (nicest way to put it, lol), didn't yet, and weighed in at 253.6, that, to me confirms my weigh in yesterday, because I was also tense, lol. *Shrugs*. I know I have fluctuations so it doesn't bother me as much anymore to see a higher number on the scale.

BTW- you don't have to thank me.... I need you as much as you need me, lol.

Good luck today and this week too!!! Got to go to work, lol.

Snack - 2 WW Points:
Medium Banana. 105 cal.

Meal 3 - 9 WW Points:
Whole Wheat/Roast Beef/Romaine/Tomato Sandwich w/ Sand. Spread. 349 cal.
1/2 oz. (I weighed it on a food scale!) TGI Fridays Potato Skin Chips.132 cal.

Snack - 2 WW Points:
1 cup V8 V-fusion Acai Berry 100% Fruit/Veg Juice. 110 cal.

Total:
34.5 WW Points (I don't regret having the .5 Wheat Bread).
2611mg of Sodium.
53.40g of Fat.
25.1g of Fiber
1729 Calories.

Everything looks good except for sodium being 211mg more than it should be.

Water? I drank some, but I'm not sure how much. Maybe only 4 glasses? People kept dumping out my water at work from the break table, so I lost track of it.

Exercise? Don't know why I didn't exercise Friday as planned, but I woke up too late yesterday and today to do any, barely had time to get ready for work, let alone exercise, hopefully tomorrow.

If nothing else, at least my food looks good.
