taking a break from training

ive been weight training for almost a year now, seen some decent gain - nothing to brag about or anything though

it looks like(hopefully) i could go on an extended summer trip where i would not have access to weights and my schedule may limit time to fit in basic excersice activities(pushups, etc)

i was wondering how much affect a 10 week break would have on what i've accomplished so far.

i've put on 30 pounds(not all muscle of course), increased my bench from about 75 lbs to 180 lbs, my biceps, triceps and forarms are much noticlbly bigger

i've asked around at the gym, some say when i come back it will be like day one over again, others say it would take a week or two to get back to where i am now after a ten week break

anything offer me some input???

thanks

10 weeks is a while, and when you get back on training, you're going to feel it. You can usually go a 1-1.5 months before you really start to lose muscle mass, but you begin to lose conditioning after the first or second week of not training.

You will have muscle memory though, so while you'll probably FEEL like day one on day one of your new training regimen, it will take far less time to get reconditioned than it did to get conditioned in the first place (1-2 weeks for weightlifting, 1-2 months for running)
