I have a wicked sweet tooth as well.
I decided to cut out sugar - processed sugar and added to my coffee sugar, and cookies and doughnuts - for one week.
Day one was hell.
Day two was okay.
Day three I was all over the place.
Day four I had fresh fruit all day.
Day five I forgot I cut out sugar.
I think sugar is an addictive substance. And I think if you cut it out, you will find that a week or so later, you will be satisfied with the natural sweetness from fresh fruit. It's really amazing. I think sweeteners actually deaden the tongue, or something.
