Looking for some tips. What can I eat when I absolutely have to have something sweet? Also-I can not eat anything with Splendor or Nutra Sweet.

Do I have any options?

Well, there is always fruit. You could even try dipping strawberries in a little sugar for a little extra sweetness. But when that wont satisfy your sweet cravings, its sometimes better to just let yourself have a little bit of what it is you are craving.

Thats hard for me cause that means having whatever that is in my house. Which means I could eat the whole box! I get these donut cravings and they drive me nuts. I need to find some good healthy cookies.

There are also the 100 calorie packs of things like cookies, teddy grahams, and even hostess snack cakes. They are all pretty good and only have 100 calories (as long as you can stick to eating just one package)

If you want a healthy cookie, look at the Kashi ones. I like the oatmeal flax ones, but they also have a good dark chocolate chip oatmeal one. They have a lot of fiber in them and they arent too sweet, but sweet enough to satisfy sweets cravings.

I have a wicked sweet tooth as well.

I decided to cut out sugar - processed sugar and added to my coffee sugar, and cookies and doughnuts - for one week.

Day one was hell.
Day two was okay.
Day three I was all over the place.
Day four I had fresh fruit all day.
Day five I forgot I cut out sugar.

I think sugar is an addictive substance. And I think if you cut it out, you will find that a week or so later, you will be satisfied with the natural sweetness from fresh fruit. It's really amazing. I think sweeteners actually deaden the tongue, or something.

Check it out and see how it goes.

I have a bad sweet tooth as well. I tend to think I have to have something sweet after every meal. I think I will try that no sugar thing! But if you just can't do that there are these Ice Cream Sandwhiches called Skinny Cows! They are awesome! I am a firm believer of the Weight Watcher program and they are only 2pts and huge! I don't think they have any additives in them but you would have to check to make sure. They come in a round tube and some stores carry different flavors. Can you tell I buy them a lot? :) They really are great!

I have a terrible sweet tooth, especially since my daughter was born 6 weeks ago. I found that filling a bowl with halved strawberries and adding 1/2 cup plain lowfat yogurt and a tablespoon of semi-sweet choc. chips is really good. The bulk of it is berries and the chips are 80 calories and the yogurt is 75. I just have to keep myself from dropping more chocolate chips in, as if the ones that bypass the tablespoon don't count. lol I'ts a good way to get a choc. fix otherwise.

I, too, have the yummies.

As for the donut cravings, I used to have them, too. Until I stopped eating donuts!

I find that I do go through phases where I will crave one thing, and the only way for me to stop the craving is just just plain old not have it, and eventually it goes away.

Some of the cravings I've gone through are:
Donuts
Pilsbury Crescent Rolls
Starbucks Green Tea frappaccino
Whipped Cream
Ice Cream
Burritos!

YOU NAME IT!!

It's hard but the only answer is abstinance lol...

I know it SUCKS to hear, and it even sucks at the time of the craving, but I've found that fruit does actually help, no matter how much you don't want it at the time you're wanting a donut. If nothing else, it gives you something to keep your mind off of donuts for a while, and puts something sweet in your belly!

I like to have mint sugarless gum to make me feel like ive just brushed mu teeth. Also, healthy fruit rollups, like fruit leather, made of fruit pulp and juice only, are supersweet, and i thik one is only 40 cal.

I have a terrible sweet tooth, unfortunately for me I *love* candy, but I've finally made myself stop buying it! If I need something sweet, I go for the low-fat cookies. My favorites are low-fat Honey Maid cinnamon grahams (one of those big crackers has only 60 calories) with some skim milk, or Snackwell's Devil's Food (fat free), or even Fig Newtons low fat or whole grain variety.

Another favorite sweet treat is fat-free, sugar free pudding cups, but they are really hard to find (for some reason Jello makes fat-free OR sugar-free but not both -- bringing the calorie count from 60 to 100 per snack).

Everyone in my work is forever bringing in snacks and treats and since I sit right next to the lunch room and have to pass by when I go the copier the tempation is hard, so I usually just pop a small page of 100 calorie kettle corn. It has just enough sweetness to satify my craving. And they aren't very salty either. I'm not a huge salt fan!

The three day hump. Once you make it three days, you're golden.

suga!!

i've actually been doing that. someone on here suggested frozen grapes as a snack and I swear it's better than any candy out there. i'm used to my coffee sugarless now as well. was never a big soda drinker but def laying off the snacks. i agree that sugar is addictive.

Oh boy, I agree sometimes you just crave sugar or something sweet. I used to love going to the grocery store and getting a donut on the way out. I am still getting used to not having sweets. It's tuff but I guess i've had more than enough sweets in my life.

I don't believe I saw "Stevia" mentioned. Has anyone tried this? We bought a whole box (which should last about a year), and have used this for sweetening coffee, teas, and any other items which call for sugar in baking. It is actually pretty good, and if you don't over do it, tastes like sugar. And better yet, it all natural.

POP was the hardest thing for me to tackle...still is...I give in sometimes, but I have cut down...I usually attach some kind of emotion to food so it can be hard teaching yourself the negative impact of doing so.
