Stuck at 253lbs

My weight loss was going fairly well, but I can't seem to get under 250lbs!!! I haven't been on a such super strict diet that my daily 2100 calories would have made a plateau already, and I've been switching up exercise as best I can. My thyroid is taken care of, too. I've started new birth control pills recently, but I don't think that's the reason.

I'm at a loss for what to do.

I know I'm not supposed to focus on the scale, but it has been over a month stuck at this weight.

Low Fat milk or what ever you are mighty young to weight so much please I am not getting on to you. Here are some of the things that you might do. First
when you get up in the morning eat a little breakfast if nothing but a peace of toast because your motabolism is at it lowest and it is taking care of the body.
If you just do without food this will not work because your body will take care of it self. So eat a small meal in the morning. Everyone that is overweight miss breakfast. also another thing you must get rid of all of that bad emotion and stress this hard to do. I will leave you a PMd check this out

Umm no. I eat breakfast every day, and have for a very very long time. I eat 2100 calories a day approximately and try to include lots of fruits and vegetables because I want the nutrition from them--not because they're low in calories. I eat whole grains when I eat bread--rarely ever do I have white bread. I've done hours of walking, swimming, and more recently I'm back on the bike.

I am not a weight loss idiot. I understand some basic points of metabolism, I understand why I'm eating 2100 calories a day. I can, and do successfully track what I eat using my measuring cups, food scales, and fitday.

I found out another thing that you maybe eating to late at night. don't eat anything after 6:00 PM and this may help also check in on a website
LINK DELETED study it and let someone know, maybe your problem is
emotional, stress hidden and you need someone to help you find out where it at

There's no scientific proof that eating after 6:00pm causes weight gain.. it's total calories consumed during the day

and there's no linking of websites...

I'm mr. plateau. I hit them every 5 lbs. How I get through them is I keep on doing what I'm doing, but I increase my intensity. I basically go as hard as I physically can. When I'm done my workouts, I can barely walk I'm so exausted. Do that for a few days and you will see that plateau go away.

You can't be this dumb. Not really.

You're drunk.

Amirite?

See though, a plateau at my weight, and because I know what I do about my diet seems unlikely. My exercise is vastly different every day..It's just annoying.

@ wellness4you-- I do eat past 6:00pm, every day, and it won't stop. I've had many other people try to tell me that, and I've had many people say just an two hours before going to bed (which is usually the situation anyways), it doesn't seem to make a difference.

@ Steve--- Even Drunks can manage better conversation than that.

Looking at your diary entries, I see a lot of "high stress, not on track with food, not on track with exercise" entries. From looking at your Fitday ( is you, right?), in the last 49 days, you only logged calories for 25 of them, with an average intake of 2,249 for those logged days.

So I guess calorie creep, same as what you concluded about June.

That's not my fitday account XD

Bwahaha. Gotta link, then? :)

Not at the moment, no. I keep it private for personal reasons, but as I said I'm very careful about what I eat. I measure my peanut butter (though I rarely have it) on my food scale.

Maybe I'll just cut to 2000, and see if that makes a difference. Not that I want to.

Hey, i'm in the same boat as you, or was and kinda am again.

i was recording 260lbs. for like 3 weeks or more, i even debated going to see a doctor 'cause i was increasing working out, eating perfectly, and just being so good.. i didn't know hwy i coudlnt' get over it.

the worst part about the whole thing is the notion of "wtf is wrong with me?" then one day i hit 258, and i was like "joy to the world".

so i'd say just push through it, your body gets used to how you work out, so try a diff machine, or cut something out of your diet (or replace it with something better) sometimes the littlest change can produce the results you want.

noticed we are similar in our weight loss, i started above you a bit (heavier), but don't want to hit 150 'case i'm afraid of too much musscle loss... hit me up on pm or aim whenever.

Sometimes... we feel like we're doing much more than we actually are simply because we're still doing *more* than were were before we started.

Did that even make sense? lol...

I apologize if it didn't. The key to physical weight loss (assuming there are no health issues preventing the loss) is consuming less calories than you burn... the more you burn, the more you'll lose.

I'm not a proponent of cutting calories beyond a healthy limit... it's just bad news for a lot of reasons, ya know? But our bodies naturally burn a certain amount simply by living -- depending upon gender, age, etc...

There are some great resources that will help determin what you're naturally burning and will also offer some good advice as to what a healthy intake would be.

What kinds of calories are you eating? (What kinds of foods)
What kinds of exercise are you doing?

Cardiovascular is an excellent all around fat burner and can be something as simple as walking... nothing complicated is entirely necessary.

Walking doesn't mean around the block (though that's a good start :) )

If your body naturally uses 2500 calories per day and your intake is only 2000 and you add an additional amount of exercise which burns 1000 calories -- you're operating at a 1500 calorie deficit = weight loss...
