Still Struggling

Hello everyone. I've posted a few pictures before so I won't bore you with that. I'm trying to lose about 5-10 lbs. of fat around my midsection. I've been doing cardio routines (stationary bicycle, eliptical) 3-4 times per week, 30-50 minutes each time for about 4 weeks now. I haven't noticed much of a weight loss at all.

I'm also interested in building some muscle in my chest and arms but am unsure if I should continue with the cardio routine for a few more weeks or if I should introduce the weight-lifting into the mix. I'm not trying to hit a "weight number" but more of losing some of that extra goo around my stomach.

Thanks for any feedback, suggestions, etc.

Weight loss is about what you eat - especially that stubborn fat around your middle. You can exercise until you fall over, but if you're eating more than you burn, you won't lose the weight.

Read the sticky post in the nutrition area about how to calculate your calories, then start eating healthy foods w/in that range.

Also I'd suggest adding in weight trianing to your routine - again, there's a sticky post in the exercise area called "The Conceptual Side of Weight Loss" that's a good starting point.

Thanks for the information. It seems like I'm on the right track, but after doing the whole cardio-thing for 4 weeks, I'm not seeing much of a weight loss. I'm not giving up though, I understand that it all takes time. I'm willing to make the leap.
