staying in shape

I've been doing pilates for almost a year, but recently I've been so busy, physically ill or tired that I can't seem to do it for weeks. How long does it take for the body to completely revert to its original state?

Hi,

It depends how long you were away from pilates. Some weeks is not so long period and may be after a month you will feel in good fit.

There is something called "muscles/body memory" and it seems to revert more quickly if you previously workout regularly.

For me - I revert bery quickly, may be a week or two.

Good luck :)

Are you talking about weight? If so then it depends on how fast you eat the calories to gain the pounds.

Also the flexibility will be gone within a week or two. Same for yoga lovers. As soon as you stop stretching regularly... your body begins to tighten and you lose flexibility.

Muscle tends to stay around longer, but it varies depending on your activity level, calories in/out and your overall health.

I might be confused... are you asking how long it takes to lose all the progress you gained from doing Pilates? If so my answer is in my post above. If not, I apologize. :)
