Starting at 248....100 pounds before birthday in 6 months!

Hi,

So I just did a google of weight loss forums and found this place and I guess it is as good as anywhere to start, look for support, get tips, share tips, recipes, exercises? I dont know! But I am 26, female starting at 248. Enough is enough! I don't think I will follow anything in particular with regard a routine or plan, just try use common sense, eat less, eat better, move more! Anyhow, that's me!

It is very possible to lose the weight that you are wanting to. But, losing 100 lbs in 6 months is highly unlikely. There are ways that it can be done but you would definately have to have a diet and exercise plan that you stick to. Sorry, but losing weight takes alot of work and determination.

I said I wasn't going to follow a particular plan, as in a devised one. I don't expect to lose it with positive thought!

Hey goodluck with it and I wish you the best of luck to make it happen. It's not impossible, if you want it bad enough you'll make it happen one way or another :). Again Goodluck and look forward to seeing updates.


Side note, I don't really think theres any real reason to be "smart", Adrell was just giving their opinion. That's part of this site. To help, encourage and give opinions sometimes. We can't like every opinion, but they are trying to help, not be rude or deter or even ruin the idea of what you want to do.
 
AI can give you some tips. Make sure to lift weights, this will keep you toned as you lose weight and eat protein too, while youre losing..
Do cardio thats fun for you. Avoid frozen dinners, stick to lean protein, veg fruit and complex carbs like sweet potatoes and lentils. Best of luck.

Welcome to the forum! This is a great place to get advice and motivation! What's your name? I don't want to use your username and call you fatty. loL I'm 23 & my goal day is my birthday as well! I'm hoping to be down to 140 -150 by November. I am similar in my plan as well I just try to be careful with food intake and make sure I exercise. I suggest a weight loss diary if you haven't started one already. Good luck to you! Let's meet our goals and have the best birthdays ever!
 
wasn't trying to sound negative. Theres no doubt that you can lose the weight. I know, I've been there. Been into fitness for 20 years. Took me 3 months to lose 20 lbs. doing 1 hour of weight training and 1 hour of cardio (boxing) everyday. If you want help, I'm more than happy to give you advice.
 
AI hope you didn't get scared away....I am sure if you set your mind to it you will reach whatever goal you want!! but realistically 100 pounds in 6 months is 4 pounds a week...that means you need to burn a combination of 14000 calories a week..... from eating less than your maintenance .....plus what you burn from working out....burning approx 3500 calories is what it takes to loss a pound....sometimes seeing the numbers helps. Of course it isn't a exact science...but it is a really good guideline.

I highly recommend finding a food tracker online or an app for a smart phone...they have been key in my 54 pound loss. I use the Sparkpeople app for my android and also theonline support..its a wonderful site.

I personally didn't worry about anything but eating less calories and moving more for the first few weeks...then I slowly added eating healthy and a structured workout.
