Starting Again...and Again

Ugh.

I am starting a new journal, cant even find my old one. If someone knows how to find it let me know.

Long story short, was doing well, then went on steroids for some health problems (4 times this year for a total of 6 weeks) and let things get completely out of control---the most they have ever been out of control. I think I am back to my 3-4 month post pregnancy weight--not good:rant:. We just have been trying to get pregnant and I gained even more due to fertility medications. It did not work so now I am taking a 2 month break and bound and determined to loose 21lbs. I truly would like to loose 10lbs but I know those last 10 will take a while and not willing to postpone things that long but I do plan to have a healthy pregnancy and this 20lbs will go a long way.

So plan is to loose 21lbs in about 2-2.5 months looks like I better get super stoked and aggressive. Here is a check on my stats:

BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) 1,572.75

Normal 18.5 - 24.9
Overweight 25.0 - 29.9

Fasting blood sugar 108
Standard target 80-120 mg/dL
Pregnancy target 60-100 mg/dL

ok so setting mini-goals each week will be the way to go for me on this:

Jun 1 171 lbs

this is CD2 so want to loose 5lbs by monday given that there will be 3-4lbs of 'flux' so....

Jun 8 goal = 166lbs

Excercise a minimum of 5 hours (gardening or playing with/walking with DD doesnt count unless she is in a stroller):
 
If you go to your name in a post, click it, hit View Public Profile, then click on the statistics tab it will give you an option to "view all threads started by Mom2" and then click that and you should have a list of your diaries or whatever.

But I like the idea of starting fresh!

Your mini goals are great! I need to set some of my own.
 
Hey Babe - Im restarting too, will spare you the details..I got knocked on my ass also for a bit...

There is you, me, Heather and Brandy who are restarting and needing to get into a better swing of things...So maybe the four of us can do some accountability stuff together...

Im off on personal leave right now so I have time to figure something out...maybe to start next week...

Not much time but did well today and wanted to log what I have done for week before I forget as we are leaving town in the morning.

mon-25walk/jog
tue-30min walk
wed-45min walk
thur-45 cardio (gym)
fri-60 walk/jog
=205 minutes (goal 300 minutes by monday)

Yesterday I overindulged on candy but the rest of the week has been good and today has been excellent with no work candy to interfere!

So far the scale is loving me at -5.5lbs since monday, I know most of that is PMS but its still nice to see, despite sitting 165 when I said I would never ben 160's again unless pregnant--hump!
 
Well I didnt get in enough excercise by far this week and fell short of my goal with 215/300 desired minutes and to be fair most of that was walking which is not strenous enough for me. But overall it was a fairly good week. I ate fairly well all week with two exceptions but I did balance those splurges out fairly well. The overall result was -5.5 lbs so I am pleased with that, I would have to guess 3lbs of it was PMS related so my 5lb goal wasnt unrealistic and was met :hurray:.

Rough night last night with the little one so I did not get up to work out though I will walk at work for lunch.
 
thanks Relly, the big losses in the beginning are the easy part for me, its the sticking with it!! So here is to some new habits for both of us.

Ate too much yesterday and only got in a 25 minute walk. I was soo tired yesterday then I stayed up too late last night and didnt get up for the gym again today! Ah, I dont know why I am so tired lately. I am goign to cut further back on the sugar, particularly in the evening and see if that helps as my fasting blood sugar was 110 this morning---too high. Today I will get in more walking.

wednesday-up for the gym yeah!

The past two days I have done well on food until the evening and then while not eating anything horrible for me I just ate too much. Will try to redirect that tonight by writing down what I eat which I have been doing throughout the day and then loosing track of in the evening when its not just sitting on my desk in front of me.

today scale says the same as monday

and again today it says the same-boo but honestly I have been having a tough time with moderation in the evenings so I know why I just need to correct it!

I did not get up for the gym today I am so tired the past couple weeks, and unfortunately thanks to a dentist appointment I wont be able to walk at work so shaping up to be a no excercise day for me, there is some hope I can take DD for a walk tonigth but we will have to see how it goes.
 
For me the hard part is the eating...I always think I should be able to eat w/r I want as long as in moderation yadda yadda yadda but maybe that has been part of my problem...so far eating only fruits beg and protein has been working for me and Im reintroducing exercise and trying to not eat breads and so on...did it two days in a row here's hoping for more...Ive been really tired and lazy at work...i gotta get back to exercising at work agian regularly too...
 
well I was w/o internet a couple days and have alot going on. I could swear AF was coming back for round two but then she didnt show and now I have no idea. My hormones are still whacked out I think from the fertility drugs. I was the same or 1/2 lb heavier on monday than last but things ahve went down hill from there, thankfully its only wednesday so I have time to whip things back into shape. Will try hard today and back to counting calories.
 
I am recently back to the forum too and kicking off a new challenge that will start properly in a few days. The initial suggestion post is in the challenges section. It looks like it would fit perfectly into your timescales because I plan on running it from Saturday until the last Friday in August.

Put a reply on the thread if you are interested.

It will give points for weight loss (also maintenance and controlled gain to make it suitable for people at goal and pregnant ladies). There will be lots of exercise points up for grabs and nutitional tasks that earn points. All in all it should be really good for getting the weightloss going.

Either way - I hope that things go well for you. I dont get time to visit diaries any more the way that I used to. I dont even get into my own diary much these days either.

It would be great to hear how you are. I tend to hang out more on ANOTHER DIET FORUM these days - the link is near the end of my diary to my photos...

That forum tends to suit me better as it has lots of challenges plus stuff for maintenance. It tends to be more supportive than here... Lots of the old gang hang out there now... :)

You may be interested to know that Dawn (Bellayryna) is kicking one off on ANOTHER DIET FORUM over the next few days (teams out of a hat) and the sign up threads have been posted.

I have gained a bit over Christmas - so am looking to lose weight this time round - but there are points for folk in maintenance too...
