Started Turning Over A New Leaf

Hello everyone guys and girls...

Ive been fairly new to the website and havent really said hello, I apologize..

HELLO :)

Before I ask for some help and some advice I'd like to tell you a little about myself... It was June 2007, my graduation was right around the corner and I was rather large... ok ok massive I was resting just a little above 300 pounds I was uncomfortable, disgusted, and I was just very afraid that people wouldnt like to hang around me because of my weight also I had no confidence I felt like I was kinda drifting through life. I remember in the last week of school we were sitting in health class and we had no assignments or anything so it was basically a free-for-all I got up and sat with a couple of students one of them was my former friend...while with him one of his good friends come over and they start to talk about my weight in a good manor...then suddenly the kid who is fairly large himself says "You gotta lay off the candy bars bro." Now ive been made fun of for a very long time and I decided this was the straw that broke the camels back... ever since then I have been eating healthy and going to a small gym in my community, unfortunately I graduated quite hefty and wasnt to happy but I was eating right and working out (including cardio)...now fast forward a bit and here is where I am now

I am resting at a weight in the lower 180's and I came from 305

I go to my small gym once a day

I read non-stop about health and fitness everywhere and I enjoy doing it

I eat healthy with little to no cheat meals

And I want to have that chiseled look and I will get it, just a matter of when

Now I have a couple major questions and problems and they are

1. I have a lot of excess/extra skin on my frame It is hard to decipher what is skin and fat.. This is mostly my problem and I desperately need some advice, I know I can tone it up because in the pictures I am going to post It looked 3 times worse before I started going to the gym.

2. The community gym I go to doesn't have much equipment but I cannot afford to go to pay a membership for a gym and I do not know which exercises would be the most efficient.. I don't mind getting results a bit slower as long as I eventually have the results I would like. I will also post pics of this as well

3. I am really afraid of calculating my calories because I am really afraid of gaining the weight back even a little of it back...I do not eat that much but I do understand you must eat in order to gain muscle and cut body fat..

Thank you for reading I understand it is a lot but now heres the fun part for you guys... PICS!!!!! I do realize the pics might be quite big and I apologize for that Ill try to resize them first though...

Ok now I pretty much just want to tone my skin up and mostly get my obliques and under my armpits toned up because that is where I really have trouble but eventually my overal goal is to be toned and defined

Now heres the gym which is the only thing I have to work with so bare with me..

Alright That pretty much sums it up Thank you guys so much for reading I know it is quite long I tried to make it as interesting as possible

Thank you For advice in advanced I really am grateful cheers :yelrotflmao:

1. with the skin, which doesn't look that bad, all you can do is keep building muscle under it and it will tighten up- as you noticed it already has a little. Besides that sugery is the only other option.

2. You can do some good work in that gym, and if thats your only option then you have to. I recommend doing any body weight exercises pushups, squats, when ever you can.

3. Why are you afraid to calculate your calories? This would give you the knowledge of knowing exactly how much you are putting into your body. Eating clean is the best way to go, good fats in moderation would be ok ex. eggs, milk, olive oil.

I'm sure some of the more knowledgeable members will chime in soon. Good luck.

Daaaaaayyyyyyuuuuuummmmm:eek2:, 125 lost!!!! Wow! That is an unfriggingbelievable!

It is hard to see any loose skin from those lousy photos (you are much better at losing weight than you are at taking photos), but I don't see a bad loose skin problem. Maybe a little around your lower abdomen.

There is another forum member who had very loose skin in the same place and his tightened up considerably through exercise and time.

As for the diet, pm Chillen, a forum member, if he doesn't see this post first.

As for exercises and equipment, you can do a lot with what you have. I am no expert on this, and hopefully others who are more knowledgeable will chime in, but I would use the equipment that you have. You can do a lot with dumbbells (bench presses and flies). Also do pushups, ab crunches, and add cardio exercises, which you have. See the stickies on this forum for how to maximize what you have.

For the obliques, do pullups or those cable pulldowns.

Good luckbut you make your own luck.

thanks everybody for your nice comments and help i really appreciate this

I eat clean all the time but I feel like I am not eating enough calories to see any results I usually only eat 2 meals a day because of my summer schedule is so messed up I'm going to try and break the 2 larger meals into smaller meals and from browsing the forum I'm pretty sure it is def possible

also can anyone just by looking at the pictures give a rough estimate of my body fat %?

thanks all :)

Dude nice work!

Don't be afraid of calculating your calories my man, if you lost this much weight you can sure as hell lose some again without trouble. Not criticizing you one bit, but you could use a bulk...A nice bulk will fill in that loose skin you say you have...but honestly you barely have any from what I can see. Building upper body muscles mass will fill in all the skin...I will find the post where this has been discussed before...very informative.

If you can't go to a gym...buy Dumbbells. Dumbbells + Body Weight training = cheap and extremely effective.

Again, very nice work. You must feel like a million bucks! :)

Good luck,

Eric

ooo, I would go higher maybe 18-20%. Most gyms won't mind doing a caliper test for you, they aren't 100% accurate, but if your worried about it it's better than nothing.

Yeah Id say roughly in that percentage which is fine but obviously I would like to go down a lot more....Im just going to keep on working at it and since this post I feel so much more motivated and want to really get my results

Thank you everyone once again I always appreciate everyones help, If it be constructive criticism or some advice thanks again :)
