Started at 315 now down to 226 (18 more to go!!!)

Wow you look amazing mr. skinny, lol. I wouldn't even think you needed to lose anymore from that pic. And you lost that much since January? That's awesome! Thanks for posting your success to encourage the rest of us :) You gotta feel good for sure

Wow, the second photo looks like the body of somebody 20 years younger than the first photo. Congrats you must feel amazing.

This is just an amazing and inspiring difference. I'm just over your starting weight now and hoping to achieve similar results in the next year or so. Good work, man- and to have come so far in just six months! What's been your secret?

Congrats on the weight loss, I was pretty much exactly where you were in April.

I too am 6'4 and I tipped the scales at 314lbs. - That was April 18th

2 months later (June 19th) I weighed in at 274lbs, and I have another Short term goal of 250 (haven't been there since I don't know when).

I would ideally like to sit right at about 215-225 but that is just a dream, I need to get to 250 first.

What did you do to lose weight? I have found that I just started to track what I ate, and kept it at a reasonable 2200cal/day + 4 days of running, and the pounds are melting off, but I haven't hit a plateau yet.

How did your weight loss go, did you do anything extreme, how many cals are you eating now?

+1.. I'm 6'5" and used to be 316 and now 265 on a good day :) didnt do much other than cut out soda, crappy foods, and until recently started cutting back on eating so much. I usually take about half of what I would normally eat and just wait til my brain tells me I'm full.

I plan to get back on the horse and lose another 40 or so lbs. by running, eating healthier and strength training.

Any recommendations on where to start? Where to find a good regimen? I need something that I can live with, and not kill myself. I know it goes faster that way but I really dont have the time to devote to really working hard, but a little at a time is sufficient for me :)

Neko - no skin issue at least i don't think so. I have some flab i think is still a little fat but could be skin.

KJ congrats on losing 50 lbs - if you have gym access try the elliptical - it is just as effective as running and so much easier on the body which is good for big guys like us - especially the knees. I do 30 mintutes at every workout. Other than that with the diet and strength training and cardio that next 40 should melt away. Good luck.

Thanks man, Ya I never tried the elliptical yet (always thought it was for chicks) :) But that sounds like just what I need, because I have terrible knee's from playing football and other sports my whole life; tendinitis is the worst bit..

Maybe I'll gain the nerve to actually start a profile on here and share my results :) I'm sure it does wonders for most to help stay motivated?

I'm at a crossroads in my life where I just broke up with my girlfriend of 5 1/2 years, so I think its time to kick this thing into high gear and take my life over and not be "the big guy" and just be "the tall, dark, handsome guy" lol We'll see how that goes.

Oh sorry to high jack ur thread but nice work! Thanks for the inspiration.

That is freaking awesome !!! :) You are da' man !

Isn't it a trip how people act differently towards you now ? ......or having girls checking you out ;) I mean, personally, I'm not really even looking for a GF..... but it still makes you feel good, if you can get a cute one to smile at you.

Hey BTW, your weight loss, is pretty similar to mine.... maybe a bit more.
So I'm curious, have you had any loose skin issues ?

I'd like to say that my side rolls, and stomach ripples were just loose skin.... but I'm sure their is still a little fat on me under that loose skin too.

I've read that when a person loses a lot of weight fast, like we have, that it can take 2 to 3 X's that amount of time, for the skin to get back to it's max tightness. So I'm thinking I should just try not to worry too much about it, until at least the end of next year.

Anyway, huge congrats to you :)

Peace,
Fish

Thanks Fish - i say the same thing. That flab around my stomach is just skin - but your right it is probably still fat. That is what I am working on right now. Trying to burn that last bit of fat off my ab area. I am happy with every other part of my body but like so many others the last spot to come off is the dreaded stomach area. The only skin issue I have is stretch marks on stomach. I have had them all my life and I use a lotion that is supposed to help them decrease but I have not seen any results. Anyway heres to us toning up now!!!!!!
