I am 40 years old, 5' 11" and currently 189 lbs.
I was 216 lbs on 1/1/10. I am posting 2 photos from 7/1/10 when I weighed 200 lbs. and two photos from today 8/2/10, at my current weight of 189 lbs.
I couldn't find any older photos from my starting weight. My goal is 165 lbs.
I made it half way to my goal and have a lot more work ahead. I lift weights for 30-45 min. 6 days a week and walk/jog 30-60 min. 6 days per week.
I eat 1,800 calories per day and eat what I consider very healthy. (salmon, chicken, lean turkey, fruit, vegetables, nonfat milk, yogurt, whole wheat, nuts, lots of water, vitamins, etc.)
I usually eat yogurt before working out and a protein shake right after. I have just read about adding dextrose to protein shakes. Is this a good idea?
I am also curious about three other supplements which are fish oil, lipolic acid and creatine. Does anyone have experience with any of those?
My main goal is to get my body fat % down much lower than it is.
Sometimes I will workout and exercise hard, but will not lose any weight for a whole week. I think that this may be from gaining muscle and losing fat, but find it frustrating when the results slow down for no apparent reason.
Thanks in advance for any comments, info. or suggestions.
