Staring Reality Right in the Eyes...

Hi. I am new here, but not new at dieting. I am a lifetime member of Weight Watchers, from 15 years ago when I reached my goal of 145 lbs, after losing 60 pounds. Since then I moved to Europe, got married, quit smoking and had three kids... The result is 45 lbs to lose AGAIN!!
I have tried Weight Watchers, I have tried South Beach, I have tried Martha Becks diet solution, I have tried Oprah's Best Life Diet guy, I have tried :seeya:pilates and I have tried the treadmill. Oh yeah, I have even tried hypnosis and homeopathy. I know as much about dieting as most professionals. The problem is that most diets and exercise programs work, and I think Weight Watchers is the best (for me). I just can't seem to sustain it and get stuck at 180 lbs every time. I was stuck there for 5 months of hard work, before my last 'defeat' when I gained back the 15 lbs again. So here I am again, after at least 3 years of mostly dieting... right back where I started.
Monday I am going to have a gastric balloon inserted. I don't think that it is going to be like magic... but I do think that it will help me sustain my efforts and see some substantial rewards. I also hope that it will push me back to the good habits of eating and exercising that were once my lifestyle and not a constant effort.
Wish me luck! I will try to let you know my thoughts over the next months after the procedure and will look for support after to sustain my lifestyle changes and follow the W.W program of healthy eating.
I admit that I overeat out of emotions and habit, and don't pretend that I am just unlucky that I gained this weight. I am going to use the next terrible weeks that I can't eat to reevaluate my relationship to food....

Hey there! I know how it is to lose weight and than gain it back and have to lose it again. I lost 50lbs when I was 17... kept it off for 5yrs. Got pregnant... gained 80 POUNDS! and now im losing it again....

Anyways I read you have tried this diet and that diet and this and that and none of it has worked... Have you tried just some good old fashioned eating healthy foods and watching your calories? I don't try "Fancy" diets... I dont buy into them. I just eat foods that are good for me and I exercise [Not the treadmill and no pilates].... Just some good old fashion running. [out on the street] and I run sets up and down the bleachers at the high school and run some more. Since living this way [lifestyle wise] I have lost 55lbs AND I started all this in the beginning of March [I had my baby at the end of February and actually didnt start exercising [hardcore] until April because I had a c-section]

In my opinion diets *don't* work... Its all about a healthy lifestyle.
