Stale Mate?

Hey, I'm new here, so heres a bit about me! I'm 18, turning 19 in a week and have been overweight since I can remember, but the last few months I've been working as hard as I know how to change that. I'm 5'11, and weighed 298lb in May, and reached 261lb around July 16th, but I havn't been able to move much since and I'm not sure why.

I run for a mile, walk about an hour and workout for about an hour using resistance everyday, that hasn't changed at all since I've started save for a few days off, so I think I'm messing up around the eating part. It's not too hard to use common sense to figure out what one should and shouldn't eat when trying to lose weight, I guess I'm just posting this because I'm doubting myself thinking I'm eating wrong and I'm hoping someone can either correct me or say I'm ok! 'cause, I'm getting frustrated, I really want to know what its like to be able to walk around not worrying about my weight, and not having my stomach hang over the top of my pants. :p

I've been drinking mainly water, with a meal replacement shake for breakfast and the same for lunch but with fruit, and for dinner I usually try to eat meat with vegetables and thats it. Is this too little or too much? Or could it be something else that is shoving me into this stale mate? any replies or thoughts greatly appreciated! thanks for reading all this either way~

Why don't you post what a days worth of dieting looks like and how many caloriies you are taking in.

Make it look something like this
6:00 am
yadda yaddda
9:00 am
snack
12:00
yadda yadda for lunch

K, for yesterday then,

5:00 am - Jogging for about 2 miles then Meal Replacement Shake (about 150 calories)

5:00 am - 11:00 am - 1 bottle of water

11:00 am - Meal Replacement Shake + Banana, Walking for a mile then working out for an hour

12:01 pm - 5 pm - 1 bottles of water

5:00 pm - Hamburger, hot dog, glass of juice and some mini carrots

9:00 pm - 1 Bottle of water, walking for about 45 minutes.

I think I answered my own question just by posting this and reading that my calorie intake should be about 1800. Until 4 or so weeks ago my eating was kind of random and i ate, to me what seemed to be too much, but I guess I was eating just enough to lose weight healthily, and it was a bad idea to try and knock it down to lose weight faster. I feel stupid for posting this now >>. I don't like the idea of counting calories, but I guess I need to start if I want to lose this weight eh? thanks for the reply mike!

I dont think you are eating enough. Try having a couple eggs and some oat meal in the morning. have that shake mid morning around 10 and then a chicken breast and a fist size amount of rice/potatoe or pasta and some greens. have the shake again mid afternoon. and a dinner similar to your lunch. Right now you are starving yourself. message me if you need more help.

You'd probably be better off with a bowl of low sugar cereal for breakfast rather than that shake. I eat a bowl of cereal - the kind with raisins and various grains - with a handful of wheat bran (very few calories but a lot of fiber!) thrown in. I even use full fat milk, because the calorie difference for 100ml is only about 40, and you do need some fats in your diet.

You definitely need more than 150 calories for breakfast! Also, check the calorie content on the juice. I know you're not drinking a lot of it but I have almost given it up since so much of it is high calorie.
