squats

if you are only interested in muscle size increase, then the basic thing is to repete several times 50/60% of your maximal load. Sets and reps will depend on your level and the time you can spare for it, but less than 15 reps per set won't help much (better to choose lighter weights then)

no less than 15 will work but you won't increase muscle size as much as you could by lifting lighter weights with more reps.

What r u talking about? Forgive me if im a little confused about what u guys are saying on this post. 8-12 rep range is prob the most common reps for building muscle. His question was "how many squats should I do to gain muscle weight on leg days” He is obviously looking for mass. I would not suggest doin anything more then 15 reps per set! This is my current squat bulking workout...

Warm-up, 10, 8, 6, 4

If u just started working out hard, I would do something like this...

Warm-up, 10, 10, 8, 7-8

Just my thoughts

Some people respond better to high rep range leg routines. Me being one of them, I perform 15-20 rep squats for 4-5 sets.

I'm the exact opposite, My legs respond to heavy doubles and triples. Try around 10, and then vary and see what works best for you.

really! Ive never even thought of doing anymore then 15...maybe ill give that a shot and see if it helps me out at all.

20 rep squats can put on size, 10x3 can put on size, 3x8, 4x6, 5x5, 6x4, 8x3, etc

but you have to support this with enough calories to grow
