squat question #1000

You are probably holding the weight up with your arms/shoulders without even realizing it. When doing this with the position your arms are in you are putting pressure on a nerve.

Try to relax your upper body as much as you can and make an effort to not hold the weight up with your arms but let it rest on your lower neck.

It happens to me to and is related to an old sports injury in my shoulders.
 
It's because you're using the smith machine. It's a well known fact that all is wrong with the world is because of the smith machine. Even the very universe starts to decay whenever someone uses this contraption.
